Agreed, if you don’t use grandfathered sharing, you can make this work (ie, let it expire, then use the gift card)... good luck!

Yes, I know that. In my OP I said you have to let the membership expire, but then you lose any grandfathered sharing. That was my point. Bottom line, you can’t use this trick if you need to keep grandfathered sharing accounts active (which I do).

Do you have a citation for this relationship? I’m not asking to be snarky, but I really would love to see the reference for this correlation.

That doesn’t work (I tried it). The email goes out as expected, but when you try to claim it, it says that you already have prime and then offers to give you a gift card for the amount of the Prime gift. Basically, you cannot apply the gift until the existing membership lapses (as detailed in the original article

There seem to be a few versions of music available on Amazon... you mentioned one, but the other seems to be better to artists... Amazon Unlimited. This is what we have right now, and it seems to be a good option (we left Spotify as well, and are trying this... note that there is a 4-month free trial being offered

One problem with this method is that if you have grandfathered sharing (which allowed up to 4 people to share with, in the past) in your account, then those shares will be turned off when you lose your Prime, and when you reactivate with your gift card, they cannot and will not be turned back on. So you’ll lose those s

Cadillac... or specifically my previous Caddy ATS 3.6L. It’s a relatively large vehicle, 4 door, but was very tight on space inside. As for being the competition for the BMW 3-series, it really didn’t feel like it. It was an ok car, but not particularly high performing. Apparently, Caddy agreed since they killed it.

“it’s critical thinking ... that powers real and necessary progress

Agreed! Also:

I sure miss my 2006 LGT, and funny enough I never had any headgasket isssues. I’m guessing that the EJ255 in there solved that issue? I was also running a Stage2 program on there, so much more boost than stock...

Without looking into reviews and quality, you’re basically looking for a 360-degree dash cam. There are some around... but again, I don’t know what’s good/bad. Here’s one at Costco, for example:

I had 2 Toyota company cars (Camry and RAV4). Both were equally terrible in this regard, so I fully agree.

Better yet, let’s expand the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act to include this nonsense. In other words, if the car breaks down, then if they want to keep the data “proprietary” then they can perform the repair at their cost or do the diagnosis themselves.

I’m not sure I agree. I’ve been in states with and without mandatory inspections, and there is no visual difference in the “quality” of cars between them. Honestly, in MA where there is a mandatory inspection, the cars are worse than in many surrounding states.

I see no jailbreaking info on that page. Screen mirroring is NOT a hack nor a jailbreak - it’s simply a feature of the devices.

Counterpoint: My 2010 Porsche Boxster has been great, as has the insurance coverage within the first 100-days period. The big thing is, I didn’t bring it to PepBoys or the like, because I don’t trust them with a mid-engined Porsche. Fact is, I took it to the local Porsche specialist, they called SR (Silverrock), and

Totally agreed. We don’t have a justice system, we have a LEGAL system.

Ahh, good catch... so be it!

Speaking of engineering... I find that pouring a bucket of water from a height works well - the momentum from the falling water provides force into the bottom, as well as some potential agitation. This has worked well for me on our older, less-effective toilets. Additonally, it’s less messy and risky. Of course, the
