For people who are self conscious about going to the gym/getting judged.

This sounds fun. But I’m a guy and not worried about being cornered by a creep, stalked, raped, etc. I think unless they introduce some kind of privacy feature, it will attract virtually no women.

This reads like sponsored content. Venmo has beaten them to the game, and it’s a system everyone’s already familiar with. I don’t see this going anywhere: the “perks” sound nice, but the relatively well-off smartphone-carrying users of Venmo just aren’t that worried about having to wait a day or two to get funds they

“If you had read to the end of the sentence, you would have seen: “there is a broad scientific consensus that alcohol is a carcinogen.”

Even considering that, your title is still wrong. To borrow an explanation from a cancer research company:

“It’s hard to prove that anything causes cancer for sure”

Then you should change the title of the post to, “Just a Reminder: Alcohol Can Cause Cancer”. Unless you’re just looking for clicks.

This is, in essence, every lousy hack stand-up comic’s stock relationship routine. You’re right. Lifehacker can and should be better than this.

I’m sorry, but how does this article fit into Lifehacker? I don’t remember Gina Trapani going on about LGBTQ issues. All this Politico-type stuff is getting irritating.

Condescension rarely helps you look more capable. If you can’t refute me, why should I trust your insulting analysis?

I pity your employer, he hired a fool.

But see, the problem with this is that then I’ll know where the most convenient place is to buy fresh delicious bread and pastries. And you think I’ll be able to stop myself then? The only thing keeping me relatively healthy is ignorance of where the best food is.

I mean, the thing is that this is an issue where there are legitimate disagreements about methodology and conclusions. It’s very hard to do sound social science on these topics. Reasonable people can reasonably disagree about the size and sources of the wage gap. But as soon as you accuse anyone who thinks the gap is

Of course, this doesn’t apply to every situation.

Ditto. Lifehacker isn’t really the place to go for actual news. Tools, tips, tricks and —heaven forbid, the opinions of the folks doing the writing—yes, actual news—no, so who cares about “political opinion.” If you have views that can’t stand up to the slightest challenge then you may want to reevaluate your views.

Please keep your opinions to yourself and just report the things I like.

Just report the things you like? Who died and made you God?

“Please keep your opinions to yourself and just report the things I like.”

Having worked at 911 centers for 18 years - the most important piece of advice for someone calling 911: “Answer the questions the dispatcher asks you in the order they are asked.”

“get over it” == “I personally don’t care about it so no one else should.”

Don’t mind me, I’m just going to wait for what I’m sure will be a calm and reasonable comment section.

I click on these articles every time, hoping just one will provide some insight but the concepts of self confidence and positive self image are so foreign to me, it would be like trying to understand sanskrit. <sigh>
