My comment was in response to the second sentence of this article, which says the '91 LA riots were purposefully added to parallel to modern day tensions. I'm saying the purpose wasn't to parallel, it was important to the story to set the tone of the US in 1994.

The Rodney King beating and riots are not a reference to today; they are a very integral part of the OJ trial. Johnnie Cochran leveraged the social climate as part of the defense strategy, and abuses of the LAPD made some of his otherwise seemingly outrageous claims plausible.

- JD is real, unlike the many fake people in Phoebe's life. Social awkwardness is preferable to her crappy ex. I think it's hard to see that (or why she finds him so sppealing) because they haven't fleshed out his character.
- I think it's a draw on the Abby/ Harris thing. He was honest that he didn't want a serious

I'm confused. Is Josh not clear she's in love with him? And is Bex quenched because she thinks Josh feels something for her? Will he finally get it when she realizes she doesn't love him?????? Aaaaaahhhhhhh!

Love….exciting and new…..come aboard….we're expecting you….

Tad Cooper!!!!!!!

I still gotta know….Tad Cooper!!!!!

Am I totally insane, or is JD scamming Phoebe with an awkward virgin act???

Tad Cooper????

Bad Kitty!!!!! Bad!! Bad!!

Logan's family was pretty messed up as well. Although I suppose Jess was always motivated to do better (even as the victim), while Logan embraced checking out for awhile.

If it makes you feel any better, IRL the actress hates coffee.

That's a big issue when shows run too long. Great supporting characters are over-utilized. Jack and Karen from Will and Grace are another example.

Logan more than Jess????

James was annoying… but I thought the shut-in [Harold?] was worse. I know he had a small but pivotal plot point (Laura's diary), but that could've easily been anyone else in Laura's life (or it could've been stuck under a floorboard in her house). James at least was important in first establishing that Laura had

Sam on Diff'rent Strokes is stuck in the Cousin Oliver role. I can't think of any young actor in the 80s filling the Cousin Oliver role that wasn't an annoyance.

The choices:

I really liked Wonderfalls, so imaginary characters aren't out of the question.

My sister and I shared imaginary friends who were twins: DeeDee and Dottie. That's all I can remember about them though.

I agree about the story with Phoebe. She seemed fired up about sticking with her feminism class, but once she was told her teacher was a dead end as a love interest that fell off her radar.
