This doesnt look too bojack-y to me but i do appreciate the slightly unique artstyle. Seems like adult animation has been stuck in a rut, and even a little twist on the formula makes a big difference

I always thought they’d really done a great job with Hope, and it’s interesting that she says this. I hope it means we’re going to get a very interesting film.
The difference here is that serialized television is structured around set up and payoff of multiple storylines, where as I do agree when I get feedback on my own work I’m quick to say “oh, interesting.” and dismiss it entirely. I don’t think Myles is saying “give Ted a girlfriend” as much as asking the very relevant…
Agreed with what moggett says about Loki 100%, but the dubai air issue is that it breaks the viewers trust in consequences in a show. I feel it is the same as “fast travel” in GOT. Does it really matter? No, if it is an overall good episode of an overall good season it does not matter. But if it is indicative of a…
I think the argument to this would be that season 1 was, at least in terms of structure and originality, worthy of over thinking this way. As soon as Ted and Rebecca resolved their conflict last season, I knew this season was going to be an uphill battle of establishing motivations. I’m not saying S1 was perfection…
Wouldn’t the trent crimm scene this episode go at least a little ways to reestablishing trust though? Everyone called out how unethical that was, and he didn’t get away with it. I would actually say most things we commenters were annoyed by played out the way we thought they should have if this show has a basis in…
Definitely my favorite quarantine find. By the end of the first episode he pretty much had me as a fan for life.
I really like his collabs with Diablo Cody, but for whatever reason Tully didn’t work for me. The fact that it seems like he could make a mature, outsider comedy version of Ghostbusters work makes this seem even more disappointing.
TFA was when everyone got up in arms that Rey was a Mary Sue, and that term gained widespread cultural awareness. Aside from it being a carbon copy of ANH, I remember the response being pretty equally upset that Rey was the “Luke” of the movie and that she “beat” Kylo in a Lightsaber duel.
Instead of solid plot, would you settle for masturbatory fan service over quality? What’s you sliding scale on comedy to plot for completely unnecessary reboots?
Did AV Club get a recent influx of people who don’t understand how movie criticism works? If you want someone to just agree with your opinions about Ghostbusters, go watch a 40 minute youtube video by a 50 year old that rants about how everything on cartoon network nowadays is garbage.
The 2016 Ghostbusters was a bad movie, but it was occasionally hilarious, especially when Chris Hemsworth was onscreen. I much prefer that to whatever the reheated Wendy’s Chili of fan-service-IP-schlock that this movie looks like it’s going to be.
I remember reading somewhere that it was made in the middle of the writers strike and Craig and Forster were basically piecing the movie together as they went. Which is a shame, but considering the context it was made in, it was surprisingly decent. Definitely took the wind out of Casino Royale’s sails though.
These issues seem to go really well together, and him using any instance of power or positive reinforcement to go in for the kiss or to ask the waitress out is indication that it’s at least an ingredient in the Nate’s dysfunctional stew.
I agree, but think they could easily change my mind with an incredible first episode. Thats basically what they did with the original GoT
I’m slightly more sympathetic to the position they were in. When they were adapting the books, their hit to miss ratio was basically unparalleled, and it resulted in probably the most popular show of all time. Once that ran out, they were just connecting the dots to increasing critical and popular disapproval so of…
Given that we are just now starting to get spin off series, I dont think the unverse will “end” on Bran being the new king. I imagine they will keep telling stories in this universe for as long as it is financially viable. Fingers crossed someone can make a GoT follow up series that retcons all the unfortunate…
Immonen is one of the greats, and the comics landscape is very much shaped in his image. Glad he’s still making interesting work.
Or her character drove straight there when she realized what was happening the day of the event.
It honestly seems like we are in agreement though. It’s not funny that this impacts users. It’s also not funny that facebook is literally eroding the foundations of our society for prophet. I don’t rely on FB for messaging, but if I did I could very easily switch to any of the four other not FB owned messaging…
