My point is that Facebook is actually net negative for society and rooting for their downfall is not a bad take. If anyone NEEDS to send a message while facebook is down and they don’t have cellular service or can’t send and SMS then they could always just send an email.

If only there were endless amount of other secure, free messaging apps that most people probably already have downloaded....

I agree with you and don’t think I have those expectations. If I’m coming off more dour than I mean to that is not my intent. I’m happy with the “pretty good” Marvel movies for the most part.

I pretty much like all marvel stuff, but based on black widow, shang chi, and all the tv I’m starting to get worried phase 4 is where Marvel starts to rest on it’s laurels. Eternals does seem like a risk, but could easily fall flat and far from home feels like it got rushed out. It almost didn’t feel like it should’ve

In theory I agree with this and want to see more of it. In reality, even politics aside, Carano is such a talentless, charismaless screen presence that it made me cringe at every line of dialogue. I criticize the acting on that show a lot, but she was by far the worst.

This is a much less dramatic story than I was expecting, but it does give me hope for this movie. Between Eternals, Spider-man, Black Widow and Shang Chi this year is looking to be solidly “standard” MCU far (I Liked SC and BW a lot, just none of these movies seem like theyre breaking the mold or trying anything new),

Yeah agree to disagree. I love them both but Minaj’s comedy was more baked in, and I loved the graphics element of his show. He also talked about issues that no one else really did, which when you watch enough of these shows can really feel like a breath of fresh air.

They left out Hassan Minaj who came up in the Stewart era, and other than Last Week Tonight, which is pretty much the untouchable successor of what Stewart did, was the best of the post Daily show bunch.

Does the av club hate their commentariat or something? fair enough.

We all agree she is one of the worst actor’s to ever work in star wars, right?

I agree that sometimes the conststants who make it through is pretty perplexing (last season being absolutely the worst offender), but I generally think they are fair. Usually when the people I think could win the whole thing get sent home its because they didn’t excel that week and they typically don’t account for

While I think the Noel and Sandy years were the best, I’m very pleased with the hosts and Judges. I know people love to give Paul hate, but few TV personalities can talk about the way food can/should taste the way he can and I really appreciate that as it adds another dimension to the show. The holiday special with

I’ve never really understood this. I think the audience can handle that some scenes are show non-sequentially

It’s just a way for the av club to cover it, and for fans to talk about it on the internet. I like reading breakdowns of the shows I watch because it reveals layers I may have missed and starts the conversation, even if I don’t always agree.

While I don’t agree with her specific criticisms, I don’t believe the new trilogy is above criticism either. But that’s just me!

I even like these shows but I’m glad they didnt win either. SO many more deserving shows

I realize that I have no concept of time or when things were released anymore, but how is Hamilton considered released the same year as Bo Burnham’s Inside? My partner has been listening to Hamilton on repeat for almost literally the entire pandemic but Inside only came out a couple months ago.

Nah this episode was bad and he graded and critiqued it appropriately. The “X” character alone is one of my favorite devices in television so I was excited at first, but like he said in the review we didn’t learn anything about Beard and nothing except for MAYBE they fight with Jamie’s dad will have any consequence to
