I’m usually a marvel defender, but Shang Chi did feel like it was ticking off boxes. I hope Eternals or Spiderman do something actually interesting with Structure or character or I’m gonna be pretty disappointed.

you are not making the point you think you are

I think a lot of people pretend to like that 2011 Thundercats series. It is well animated, but it is not good. Considering it was animated by studio 4.C , my favorite Japanese studio, it mustve been insanely expensive to make a show no one watched. And then when TCats Roar premiered people who never watched it got mad

Clearly you missed the “fan” reaction to Thundercats Roar (and the new She-Ra, and basically every other rebooted property the last decade.) The hate is real.

I really like that too, but wish they had taken it even farther. If I have one real criticism of the movie is it does too much telling us who he is and never really shows us. They tell us he rejects his father and is running away from his past, but instantly starts fighting on the bus over gemstones that were

I really liked Shang Chi a lot too. My only problem is that it had many of the same problems a lot of Marvel’s origin stories do, and they made Shang Chi a bit too squeaky clean and well adjusted for the son of a crime lord who watched his mother get murdered.

I would still put Tenet over BVS because Tenet at least tried to dramatize and absolute batshit concept. Nolan has pulled this off before with great skill, but for whatever reason he dropped the ball with Tenet.

I loved IM3 then and it is still one of my favorites. I always thought one’s feelings about that movie was a good indicator for how someone reacts to Rian Johnson’s TLJ interesting enough. Do you like bold, smart storytelling or do you want reheated mash you’re already familiar with?

Are you factoring in expectations and disappointment into this judgement? It is surely his worse, but certainly better than every Zak Snyder superhero movie.

Adventure Time is the high watermark for series that were very obviously not allowed to be serialized becoming serialized over time, arguably to the detriment of mainstream appeal. Considering they’re owned by the same parent company and AT has entered the endless cycle of revivals and spin offs on HBO max, I hope

This is a great point, but could still be applied to heavy serialization, right? This finale felt like a momentous turning point for the characters not existing inside the finite curve, Rick Sanchez not being the smartest being in the multiverse, and they have still returned having changed (once they get back to

Which episodes did waldron write? This felt very thematically similar to Loki, but I personally enjoyed this so much more. They tackled some huge ideas and actually pulled them off.

Which other soap operas are you watching have characters traversing the multiverse?

I don’t think they are reading this, but if breaking the dimensional bubble so that rick is no longer the smartest entity in the multiverse isn’t a way to introduce fresh new stakes for the characters, I don’t know what is.

Other (animated) shows that did this successfully were Avatar, Adventure Time, and probably most drastically Steven Universe. I’m sure there were others but there is precedent for this kind of story telling to actually happen on this show. In my opinion, Steven Universe had the same problems as Rick and Morty, where

This feels like a great rick and morty gag, and if they ever do choose to show that I’m sure it will be amazing.

Don’t all universes exist in non-rick universes now since they destroyed the citadel? Or they’re now susceptible to anyone from non-rick universes coming into their universe?

I’m curious if other people take Harmon & Co.’s jabbing at continuity at face value? Do we really think that he hates it or is it a way to make fun of the episodic demands of adult swim programming?

Kanye has too many snakes whispering in his ears, to mix metaphors. Like all late stage kanye albums, there is probably a masterpiece on the cutting room floor, but we’ll never hear it due to his insecurity and whoever keeps getting playboi carti on his songs

seems I was beaten to the punch many times over with this comment. My bad!
