To be fair, GM clearly doesn’t have any interest in selling you an SS. They never advertise it or offer deals, and it’s just there for those who know about it and really want a Corvette-engined RWD sedan for near to $50K.

It should be noted that it’s only on the SOHC normally aspirated models due to a single layer graphite coated head gasket design that flaked and corroded over time and failed. Turbo models use multi-layer steel gaskets that hold up much longer than the piston ring-lands and rod bearings do in boosted versions ;-)
