60K raiders, huh? Wow. I thought the Raiders moved to Las Vegas šŸ˜†

Two key points.

This week I have received over half a dozen calls on my work phone from an AI powered call center looking to update our company info for a trade magazine.

So how do you feel about China using slave labor?Ā  Because they do.

Sigh, this is a bad take.

The Chinese govt can invest in clean transportation AND be spying on us. Two things can be true at the same time. Consider that we just recently learned the true purpose of Pokemon Go (getting people to run around with their phone cameras to build a database of worldwide location photos that beats even google’s).Ā Ā

This site is a toughĀ read. LOL.

It’s wild to me that it feels like everyone in the US has realized that we may have went a little too far when it comes to buying cheap shit from China (even though were still obsessed with it, I see you Shein and Temu shoppers).

The cost differences are truly insane. Allowing China EV companies in will decimate US OEMs regardless of what they try to do to react. The only way you could convince me to allow it is if they built the products in the US, maybe by establishing a JV with a US OEM (sound familiar).

Have our modern capitalists not done their homework, or is a genuinely free and fair market not in their interests?

What are they supposed to do, conduct business ethically? Tell the unbiased truth? Represent their constituents? Nobody ever got rich doing all that stuff, unless doing it ruined their lives and they sued afterward.

There’s two reasons I don’t have an EV at this point. 1) Because I currently live in a condo and cannot charge at home. I’m not using public fast chargers as the primary method of charging a vehicle, because it shortens battery life and it takes too damn long. And 2) because nobody can seem to make an EV that I…

I realize inserting nationalism into a story about car performance can often be viewed as unwelcome or even deemed irrelevant. Having shared that, it is really too much to ask that American consumers make an honest attempt to buy American? While I think Elon Musk is a world class douche nozzle, and I would never…

Nice deflection!

All well and good until the Chinese government decides you can no longer drive your car or just takes control of it. Like signaling the battery to overheat so that it becomes a fire bomb. Yep. I want the Chinese government to have total access to my car and know exactly where I live, work and go as well as everything…

Uh....I have a solution — maybe don’t start them at $85K?

Over the past thirteen years, if I could get a dollar from every person, every time, in all the auto blogs I’ve read, who wrote that ā€œTesla is a dead brand walkingā€ or some variant of that theme . . . . . I’d have enough money for a straight cash purchase of a new Model Y to replace my ā€˜17 Bolt this spring.

When I was a young boy decades ago, the local radio stations went off the air at night, leaving plenty of airspace for CKLW Detroit. I can’t begin to tell you how many Motown hits I heard on their debut play over my little transistor radio while in my bed, including ā€œBaby Loveā€.

very true! they might be great cars and all, but at what cost?

Yeah.... but there’s the whole you know.... slave labor being used in China to make things like car parts or entire cars. Or more recently, when officials in Brazil literally stepped in and saved a bunch of Chinese workers being used to build a BYD factory there. I don’t like Tesla or Elon. That’s why I bought a EV…
