Good point. There’s a winery near us that’s dog-friendly, and my wife and I have never had an issue with any of the 4-legged patrons. I guess my knee-jerk reaction was thinking about the people who call ‘em their “fur baby” and absolutely cannot go anywhere without them, which was my mistake. 

Not everyone loves dogs. 

As a treat, I’d go get a roaster chicken from one of our local grocery stores, pull the skin off of it and settle it on a plate onto the kitchen floor. The cats would gather around it and gnaw at it while I pretended I was on a discount safari. Everyone was happy.
