I went to the local GM dealer when they had a Volt on the lot - just the one - and I wasn’t even looking at it, and the salesman still went out of his way to say that the “electric car” was stupid and I definitely shouldn’t buy one. I was looking at a Sonic that I also didn’t buy!

eh, what in the last few decades points to GM being able to do anything like this competently? The smoke and mirror here is that GM knows that there is so much VC money sloshing around that they hope to fool some rich idiots into giving them more money.

Justin I believe there has been a misunderstanding here. Trail Rated on modern Jeeps simply mean it will safely navigate shopping center parking lots and the occasional drive over a curb or parking block.

Everything has gone down a size or two for me after lockdown and WFH. My loose fit jeans are now Garth Brooks level, my mid-sized car feels like a Smart Car that’s been on a diet, my office chair has gotten narrower.

Looming? I’d say we’re already in a depression.

4th. In a year, there will be a ton of used cars on the market when city dwellers regret their purchase.

The finest stock car racing documentary ever made if you ask me.

You could have saved a lot of time with Google Image search. Transit pickup trucks are ubiquitous in Europe.

Agreed. A single cab Ute with a 6+ foot bed is cool and useful. A four door Ute with a four foot bed is a sedan that is missing a trunk lid.

Not only can you already get a pickup Transit, but the bed can tip up!

You can't project a bullshit lifestyle with a van.

I’d like a lot more context and a failure analysis of the suspension component before I pass judgement one way or the other.

I-Car Platinum Pro Level 3, 8 years in the industry and have been licensed appraiser for 5 states. I feel fairly confident in reviewing auto damage from photos. When you zoom in on the photo he posted in Twitter the point of failure was the lower ball joint where it bolts on to the left steering knuckle. The control

99 Honda is not only much lighter but has one of the best suspensions put under a FWD vehicle.  The components are beefy.

Nothing seems to bring out the passion -both pro and con- ‘round these parts than an article about Tesla/Musk.

Some context for why people’s hackles were raised to 11 over this specific issue, beyond evidence that the OP had apparently actually shorted Tesla: for many, many years, there’s been a troll pushing a conspiracy that Tesla suspension is failing and Tesla’s trying to cover it up, up to and including scouring car

I can see pretty clearly a dent in the lower bumper right in front of the wheel. My professional opinion (I’m an insurance adjuster/arbitrator) is that the guy hit a curb or some other fixed object hard enough to damage the suspension. It looks like the lower control arm broke off from the steering knuckle during a

I thought Tesla had the ability to pull diagnostics from the car. Maybe that’s the information they’re working from.

You’re wrong about LA traffic being shitty in anything. Bumper-to-bumper traffic is much better simply if the car can do the mundane stop and go traffic driving all by itself by automatic cruise control or self-driving tech. This was one of the big reasons why Doug Demuro got the Kia Stinger, and where I mostly find
