Gotta disagree. They will blame everyone but themselves. Also they know they can get away with nearly anything as long as the president will pardon them.

As others have said, the effects will shape the country for decades. I do not expect many of those effects to be positive.
At $100k, I completely agree. If they ever do release the $60k version, that would be at the lower end of the average purchase price of a new full sized truck. However as long as there continues to be people willing to throw $100k at one, I doubt we will see it.
There are lots of lawyers out there waiting to jump on class action suits, and if there is fraud, they will have to pay for it.
The people talking about how Tesla isn’t actually in a great position are talking about the facts as they are right now, not wildly speculating that people just won’t like EVs generally because reasons.
You’re equating early EVs with a single model. Really?
People said the same about early EVs and how once the wave of early adopters was done the sales would plummet. That never happened, and yearly sales continue to grow. Even with the CT, there will be that rush of early adopters who are willing to part with $100k however I believe it will continue to sell well as long…
Technically, buying any vehicle is not “green” because all products require manufacturing.
Couldn’t agree more, and I’m sure folks will also dislike my next statement - dealerships are scams. They are scams that have been legalized through lobbying. Middlemen, like dealerships, should be providing a service, otherwise they only serve to enrich themselves. The general public would agree that dealerships add…
“Yes. As I say packaging is a problem, but if designed from the outset to accommodate them it is less of an issue. But article says complexity/ repairs. I don’t think that is really an issue.”
“Second problem is this statement... “Generally, they (mfrs) don’t love building them...” What? They have zero evidence this is true. How do you know manufacturers don’t like building PHEVs? A PHEV is not much more complex than a regular hybrid. Just a larger battery and a larger motor (or two) relative to a regular…
They don’t normally publicize the president’s movements for security reasons.
Ok, I didn’t scroll down far enough. I thought they were excluding engines and transmission from the parts count. I.e., just saying that the engine or transmission is from X or Y country.
This. While I do hope trump loses in the next election, the fact that so many people voted for and will vote for him again gives me little hope for US citizens.
It’s decent, although I question why they would separate out the engines and transmissions, and not categorize the individual parts.
EV adoption does still have some hurdles (I.e. charging), however they shrink everyday. The biggest challenge is getting past misinformation and the strange politicization of them.
Don’t forget “fiscally responsible” while giving billions to auto dealers and manufacturers.
A lot of people today have been unknowingly trained in the Perfect Solution Fallacy, especially when it comes to things like climate change, electric vehicles, and buying things from China. If an action doesn’t solve the entire problem, then there’s no point in pursuing that action, right?
How do you make the determination of what is Chinese made and what isn’t?
Some people just want an excuse to buy something new and shiny. Buying a brand new car is a want, not a need.
