I’ll just drop my autonomous canoe in the local creek and it can meet me at my destination.

Given the general public’s infatuation with unnecessarily large cars, I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if most of us are driving around dumptrucks with a bunch of seats in the back by the time autonomous cars show up. We’ll have plenty of space for stuff inside.
I’m with you. I have a 2015 Turbo and the thing is a pocket rocket, even at a modest 135 horsepower and an automatic (I know, I know, but it was my wife’s car and she can’t drive a manual.) It’s like driving a street legal golf cart. I dart around corners, punch it off the line from stop lights and just generally…
The one parked in my driveway disagrees. It does have the Fiat Madness ECU good for almost 200hp, but 160 stock herspers should be fine for getting the holeshot in traffic.
How is the Zoe different from the Leaf or the Bolt? Seems like roughly the same price, range, and body style... ???
You don’t want a small electric car. You want a big truck to show off your manliness to the world like a Real American.
1st Gear: That’s the case for now. But it will be interesting to see what happens when Tesla starts supplying vehicles from their new plant in Germany... which will enable them to get around the EU import tariffs... not to mention product supply constraints.
I don’t think any of the entrenched automakers quite realize exactly how far behind they are on the software front. Too many years of outsourcing pretty much all their software has left them in a position where they don’t even know the extent of what they don’t know.
Sounds like a car a pedo would drive - Elon

No manufacturer has beaten the 265 mi range of the original 2012 Model S.
“Neutral: Do You Want A Renault Zoe?”
They are currently the most valuable car company in the world and your advice to them is to stop making cars?
Just wait until the real car makers get in the electric market...then keep waiting
As other manufacturers offer more electric vehicles, Tesla’s revenue from them will decrease, so they can’t do this for another ten years.
Yeah, and it’s not like other automakers don’t sell them either. Honda and Toyota does too. It’s legit income, just like how the fines are legit expenses on the flip side.
The problem is that 0.1% of the population have a genuine need to transport longer/bulkier objects, and they will loudly insist that the Bronco-bakkie is no good, and then the other 99.9% of the population won’t buy it either.
Almost guaranteed to be more reliable than the real thing!
Cuz Peeps have lost their Mother Bleeping Minds with the obsession with SUVs, CUVS, and Trucks.
This is a really important point. 10 years ago, we (poor graduate students) took a leap and spent $9.5K on a Hertz Rent-2-Buy Yaris hatchback after finding dud after dud of used cars in the $3-5K range. The monthly payment was ~$110. It’s stupid reliable, cheap to maintain, and has gleefully shuttled us up 4WD…
