The flying of the “Trump” flag is pretty disturbing to me. I can’t think of another time in US history where the name of a president is used as a flag and symbol. That and it tends to always get flown in a threatening way like the images shown above. Its seriously no different than flying the Nazi flag or other such

1st Gear: No sale.

Dude, this fwd Fiat trucklet with a 1.4 engine have higher payload than a Ram 1500. Yeah, it doesn't tow, but it can handle well the weight on its bed and is very thought

I would say from observation that you are about 10% of the truck owners I see. My neighbor has a brand new LT Silverado and he put a hitch mount bike rack on it, since he doesn’t want to scratch the bed putting bikes in the truck. I don’t understand. What’s a few scratches in the bed when it has that grill?

My issue is this.Trucks are great 2 days out of 7. But 5 days out of 7, they are suboptimal. For 5 out of 7 days, I need a commuter car (small car) and a family car (Minivan?). The truck can’t be operated as cheap as a small car, and it can’t carry small humans (or large canines) as well as a minivan.

This is hilarious to me. I have a neighbor who has twice said explicitly that a man is more manly if he has a big truck. This guy, who owns a lifted Tundra, is a construction worker and he ends up driving long distances as a commute. Well, his lifted Tundra gets 8 mpg (he told me) so he doesn’t drive it to work. He

Clearly the hatchback I used to have was less capable than a truck. How often do you really need the full capability of a truck though? Before you answer that, have you tried those tasks with a wagon or hatchback and a trailer? Almost certainly not every day. I know some of you need one for work and that’s a different

Hey come on, he has heated and cooled leather seats in there. He can’t get muddy and then hop into the truck.

And in most of those countries, any more capability than that requires a properly upgraded driving license as well - which is how it should be here.

All of which can be done in any vehicle, or with a $7/hr rental from Home Depot.

Just like a sports car, for most owners it’s about image and a small percentage about actual use. In the truck’s case, they want to look tough by appearing to have a job that requires physical work instead of sitting in a soul-crushing cubicle cell in an office zoo (pre-pandemic). Weak people also like them because it

And yet people in other countries do all of those things with Global-sized trucks. They often have higher payload capacity than than most “1/2 ton” US pickups too.

I think you misunderstood my post. I was not targeting enthusiast priorities at all, although trucks certainly fail against other vehicles in every enthusiast category. I was pointing out that trucks fail against other choices in every single category, outside of their utility capabilities. So if someone doesn’t

That is literally ALL of my friends with pickups and my dumbass brother (he won’t drive his stupid Brodozer in rain or snow). I have had nastier things INSIDE my GTI than any of them have had in the beds of their precious trucks. 3/4 of them don’t even have trailer hitches - I have one on the GTI and have used it on

I have to admit that owners’ obsessions with their tall blocky luxury vehicles with the exposed trunks amazes me to no end.

I’ve been alive for over 4 decades and have been rabidly enthusiastic about automobiles for nearly that long. Nevertheless, I still cannot get my head around the desire by many to own a pickup truck as a primary vehicle when they have no regular need for its additional utility, if at all. Pickup trucks are a trailing

Not all surveys are dumb, but surveys that are conducted purely to generate marketing fodder are as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Why can’t you guys be normal like everyone else?

#2 on that list is the #1 reason I won’t buy a truck. I hate helping people move.

But that is probably true about 96% of all offroad vehicles anyway.
