As somebody who lived in NYC for nearly a decade and am now living in Portland, curious what your 2 “passable” bagel places are here. I have yet to find one.

DO NOT use self-storage at all costs, it’s predatory, and not an actual solution for most instances.

Better yet, put it on your resume if you aren’t vaccinated. We can save both of us twenty minutes of me pretending you don’t disgust me while wanting you out of my office so I can Lysol.

You are SO right about it being a good thing if you are rejected for having been vaxxed saving you a lot of hating your job/the culture. I am fully vaxxed but I still wear a mask, and would to an interview, and if they don’t show the same concern and precaution, I would not take the job anyway.

I had not even thought of putting it on my resume. It is definitely getting added this weekend.

I decided to not hire a guy this week because he’s not vaccinated.

Better yet if you're looking for a new job and haven't gotten your shots, do it now.

Put it on.

To be fair, most of those terrible people are dead, so they aren’t saying much of anything anymore.

“I’m a nice guy.” If you have to claim it, you ain’t it.

Joe Rogan is a fucking idiot. He doesn’t give two fucks about half the people that come on his show or what they have to talk about.

At one point I would have agreed, but somewhere along his rise he switched from genuine curiosity to “just asking questions” and talking over the experts that he has on his podcast.

Almost always when they are “Asking questions” they aren’t “looking for answers” they want you to listen to THEIR answers.

As an actual comedian, we talk about punching up vs down *all the time.* The only comedians who DON’T care about that discussion are unrepetant assholes.

That’s exactly what he wants you to think. Look at the slate of things he’s “just asking questions about” and you’ll see it’s pretty exclusively things that selfish assholes try to justify to avoid accountability.

I’m surprised “I did my own research” didn’t make it into the list.

“starlink” is a science-denying troll who likes to use Kinja to tell us what Joe Rogan thinks.

Oh yeah, or even just not knowing quick commands on the keyboard, like alt + tab is the most beneficial thing to know to increase productivity, but that’s something almost every “casual” user doesn’t know about. I thoroughly believe that if you use a computer, you should know how to navigate it via only a keyboard

Same here, I’m a ‘seasoned’ laboratory director, and I consistently have to give instruction to the younger employees on how to effectively use excel to process data.

What I see every day with the engineering grad students I work with is they can use a computer and pick up software with ease. That said, many of them, especially those from the US, clearly never received any instruction on how computers actually work - meaning directory/folder/file organization, file/data types,
