I just find that there are so many things that slow me down when I play. All the dialogue and encyclopedia entries and inventory management are fine if you are doing long play sessions, but when you're playing 1 hour a day and you end the session without feeling like you've done anything, it can be discouraging.

Woah! But that's not nearly enough time for me to finish the rest of the original trilogy. At my current rate of completing 1.5 games every 10 years, I'll need for this to be delayed until 2027 at the earliest!

Mini Metro is great. Simple, intuitive gameplay but a lot of nuance. And it's definitely one of those games that feels like it's flexing your brain a little. A worthwhile timewaster. I did not realize it had been released on mobile platforms, though! Time to go get it on my phone!

I envy you having RE0 as your unplayed Resident Evil game. Mine is Code Veronica, and I don't know if I have the strength to go back to that blocky tank-movement fest. Dunno why I feel compelled to play it, but having played all the rest of the games, it seems important somehow.

How many hours have you pumped into Rogue Legacy? I spent about 20 hours on the game at first before I burned out on it. I gave it about a years break before picking it back up again. When I did, I was delighted to find that all of my muscle memory was still in place for me to put in another 20 hours to beat it. Not

Yea, Kaidan's deep blandness annoyed me (at least in ME1 which is the only one I played). I avoided him whenever possibly and send him blithely to his death when the opportunity presented itself. I also felt that the human chauvinism angle was interesting because the whole game revolves around alien snobbiness towards

Hey, I haven't really been around much recently, but I've still appreciated the work you put into this weekly roundup. It definitely contributed to the feeling of community!

“He was a tool of The Boss, without brains or backbone.”

I really loved Ground Zeroes, which had both tight gameplay and an extremely well designed level. The gameplay carries over to Ground Zeroes, which is a joy, especially given some dodgy control schemes in previous MGS games. I'm definitely enjoying MGSV so far, but I'm not sure that the magic of Ground Zeroes

Yep, that's what happened. UNLESS… the game is taking things to a whole nother level and has dynamically grafted a whole "Moby Dick" theme onto my MGS experience, purely based on the name I chose. But that couldn't happen… could it?

I take an almost perverse pleasure in seeing how long I can delay playing games that I am keenly anticipating. If you think that 14 months is a long time for me to wait, then woe betide Arkham City, which I postponed for 4 years.

I've finally got around to playing Metal Gear Solid 5. So far, I’m pretty happy. The opening hour or so is thoroughly insane. So much so that I can totally imagine that Kojima dismissed a dozen opening sequences of the game as not insane enough.

I agree. They clearly should have gone with "Facebooks Live".

I'm about at midgame and maybe I have just been accepting of my characters flaws. You really let go of Veterans for bad quirks? I just felt like they keep cycling and there's no way to get rid of them entirely, so I should just suck it up.

Hey, I just read that the same patch allows you to turn off the rear touchpads. Hoooooraay!

Yea, I have similar issues on my side. What made a big difference for me was getting a lightweight portable monitor and plugging my game system into that. It's obviously not as good as the TV, but it gives me more versatility to use the console.

Haha, yea I haven't entered the endgame yet. Not sure if I have the resilience to come back from a succession of TPKs. I definitely wish there was a way to reduce your Crit vulnerability. We will see!

Yea, there's always a moment of trepidation. Is this cutscene plot-critical enough that I can't experiment with whether there is a pause feature? How hard is it to put in a prompt for "do you want to skip the cutscene?"

Yea, it's definitely great in this format. The game is a bit grindy, but sometimes I don't want to pick up a game and figure out a bunch of new challenges. I just want to go ONCE MORE INTO THE MAW.

I recently bought mine as a platform for indie games and it's been working out so far. I just love the "feel" of it when I am playing. It's comfortable, the screen is bright and clear, and I can turn it on and off at will. Just a better experience for most games for me.
