Feel better soon!

Ha! I’ve never had the opportunity to notice whether she washes her hands after using the bathroom or not. But she’s the kind of person who doesn’t understand that bacteria and viruses are not the same thing, and that antibiotics are useless against viral infections.

This is exactly what my cubicle neighbor has been complaining about. She actually claims that this year’s flu shot gave her sinusitis and has told everyone in the office that she is never getting vaccinated again.

Except that is a mischaracterization of what Harvey Weinstein did. It was more like “spread your legs and be nice to me or I will ruin your fucking career.”

Now playing

I know! Also, I’m posting this here, one of my favorite Sesame Street clips is Lupita talking to Elmo about skin:

I’ll have to wrestle my toddler into submission and give it a try then!

How do they get her to keep her hair so neat?! My daughter is 2 as well, and her hair is always a static-y, mullet-y, occasionally snotty mess. Sigh.

But why though, in a case like this? I can sort of understand people having a boatload of kids if they genuinely believe that kids are god’s blessing, but if you’re having them just to chain them up... why go to all the trouble?

The curious part of me wants to click on the link, but I don’t want to turn into a sobbing mess at my desk. When I look at my toddlers and I think that some people would happily, deliberately hurt children of their age, it juts makes me want to vomit in rage.

:(

I certainly plan on teaching my son about consent and about not assaulting other people, but sadly I have to admit that I don’t trust all other parents to do the same.

Prayer, unequivocally, demonstrably, does not work. The victims in the Texas shooting were literally praying at the exact time they were gunned down!

I’m so sickened that Trump used the adverb “fortunately” to describe a mass shooting event. Fortunately *only* 26 people died, including children? As if there is an acceptable limit here? :(

Having a child who is a US citizen will not prevent the mother from being deported. The child technically has the right to be in the US, but, realistically, if the mother is deported, what does she do with her baby? Leave it behind?

French Canadian here and no, kissing someone’s hand is *not* how we do it here. We do the two-cheek kiss thing, but only in more familiar settings.

Also, what is the use of wearing a helmet if it’s not strapped on? Gah!

I agree completely! Yes, toddlers are impulsive and unreasonable, but they can also be incredibly sweet and kind. And, they are insatiably curious and eager to learn new things and understand how the work works. Trump has none of these qualities!

As is the New Yorker, which is not the magazine that published this piece.
