...and the writing. I mean... it’s absolutely appalling.

Which is why no sequel has been announced for this game, despite the story being left open for one and the lore arguably deserving it.

It depends on what one’s definition of “tank”/”torpedo” is. From what I understand, there were layoffs, Sony no longer works with them, and they are now no longer in the major console market. Making excellent games is cool, but if they are not making enough for the games then the future isn’t bright.

I respectfully disagree about it being underrated. Having played it a few times, it was beautiful to watch but the linear path took so much away from it. Did love how they tied it to major events like the crystal palace fire and such. They even trashed a piece of fan theory when they revealed that the lack of

What I find remarkable about this game is that games with this many problems are technically flawed as well. But The Order: 1886 is so fucking polished. The visuals speak for themselves, the frame rate holds solid at its intended 30fps cap, there weren’t many bugs, and the sound design - especially for the weapons -

Especially if you like over the shoulder style Resident Evil 4 style game play.

That’s such an awful idea. It reminds me of all the abortive “cinematic universes” non-Marvel studios have tried to make — almost by definition, you can’t start a franchise without delivering an initial entry that’s fully satisfying in itself.

So they basically made a game that’s a metaphor for the drudge the left-behind devs feel working for Konami and the (more or less) betrayal of Kojima. And they somehow got that to fly with the higher-ups at Konami in their meetings. A story of how they managed that could make for a fascinating documentary.

It never even occurred to me that the Elder Scrolls are a thing and not just the name of the series.

“OMG.” Nathan thought, “how can I write articles about toxic people with all these nice people around?”

Guess the genres based on the album name!

I switched over to MHW and deleted D2. I got so fed up with the lack of endgame, communication and Bungie just repeating all of their mistakes from D1 over again it just frustrated me. Sure it was fun for a while, raiding with friends, but once it’s cracks started to show things really started to break wide open. I

Also, make them a “realistic” size. The movie version of Smaug was just too damn big.  Sure you can wave certain things away as magic, but only so far.

Vermithrax Pejorative remains, at least to this old fart, the king (queen?) of cinematic dragons

I think dragons work best in one of two ways.

1) Reptilian forces of nature. Sort of like Godzilla, or Jaws for that matter, they are nigh unto destructible entities capable of great destruction. For me, they are not necessarily inherently evil. They are just creatures, like a crocodile or a shark, acting on instinct

“The budget was a fraction of that spent on the SJW game Wolfenstein...”

Vavra is a fucking bigot and doesn’t deserve anywhere near this nuanced of a dissection. And you should be sainted for approaching this so academically, Nathan, given your place in the pantheon of GamerGate’s weird obsessions.

As a Hispanic myself, I rarely ever see any leads of my own descent. Aside some terrible actor with a terribly fake accent in Just Cause.
