My parents read to me a lot, but then we actually switched to the opposite. So my mom and I started doing “car books.”

Yeah, I mean my “print” handwriting developed over the years to be somewhat cursive-ish I guess... in the sense that it’s a bit loopy and I connect certain letters together, but it’s definitely not actual cursive writing and that would slow me down immensely.

When I was in kindergarten, my dad started a tradition of giving me a book every year at the end of the school year. Kindergarten was Oh the Places You’ll Go (which is what made me think of this).

Yeah I was a little bit surprised, like.... is that how we’re describing her now? “Batman star Eartha Kitt” ???

Haha, I’ve totally done the taco curry thing too! Not tikka masala, but I was making curry with chicken, potatoes, chick peas and spinach and used taco seasoning instead of garam masala.

I just can’t stand the texture. I’m not squeamish, I’ll eat heart, guts, tongue, whatever...

Yeah Dan says CATFISH did it for “fun/play” but I think it reads more like someone who gets off on the validation.

Thank you!

ALSO AND FURTHERMORE if he’s not specifying whether he’s talking about Eastern or Western NC bbq then what’s the point of even starting that discussion in the first place.

Practicing actually physically speaking the language, even not in conversation, is also really important. So just taking a news article/book whatever in the language and reading it out loud can also be surprisingly helpful.

Yeah, this show is really so much better than it has any right to be (taking the premise at face-value) --- and it’s almost entirely down to the fact that Tom Ellis is just so god damn charming.

Yeah, basically this director reeeeeally likes mocap. Which sometimes works, and sometimes ... doesn’t.

AND he has a secret plan to fight inflation!

I mean, at the very least if it *was* actually a carjacker, then they need to find him cause he’s the one who should be charged and prosecuted.

Also one other big one that is not mentioned I don’t think....

I still remember when I first came to Japan, I was staying with the host family. If we were like, eating dinner or doing homework at the table and the little brother (about 11) needed to blow his nose — he would literally get up from the table and go stick his head in the closet that was right off the dining room and

Except for Kyoto. They do it like Tokyo does, for whatever crazy reason.

Ooh, does he also have a secret plan to fight inflation?!

SO IS JAPAN!

Yeah .. no.
