Yeah, but I think in Attenberg's case it possibly was a calorie-thing. (Taking her descriptions at face value, that is.)

Has anyone read The Guardian? It's the only one of the actual books that I've read (aside from the Notebook because, come on, Ryan Gosling.)

See, all the slapping causes dizziness and blurred vision. So the next time you look in the mirror — instant soft-focus results!

Yes please! It's terrible and I am going to LOVE it.

Oooh, yes! Sensing a trip there next time I'm back in the states... ^^

I know what you mean. I actually read Atlas (skipped the speech) and Fountainhead in high school and really enjoyed them. I think it really appeals to people who read it at that age. And it definitely gets a lot harder to admit that you like the books, the older you get.

screw Lisa Frank— where's my Rainbow Brite???

Glad I'm not the only one who was bugged by that!

Side note. Can I just say...

Oh my god, that's gorgeous!

Maybe other people have already asked this, but ... how is she meant to be Hispanic?

Also, I don't see how they could even prove that those were her searches to begin with. Even if her Google search results contained the exact phrase "How to sleep with a dude and then accuse him of rape even tho I'm totes lying lol" — all that would prove is that *someone* searched for that phrase using her computer.

I agree with you that the whole knee-jerk wacky Japan reaction is patronizing and totally annoying — case in point, the recent "bagel-head trend" that my relatives have been emailing me about for the past week. *headdesk*

Funny story, I was actually joined at the hip besties with Alexis in 1st-2nd grade. She had pet hermit crabs, and a snake I think. I remember sleeping over at her house and staying up "late" watching Tales from the Crypt. (Which felt very dangerous to my seven-year-old self.)

Yes! Criminal Minds is totally right up there with SVU in the "I will unashamedly attempt to marathon a whole season in an entire day/weekend" category.

Exactly. I think that's a large part of the problem. Sites like Wikipedia attract a lot of stupid immature trolls and it's the editor's job to deal with them.
