After Dubya, I swore to myself that I would never again underestimate the capacity for stupidity of the GOP base, and then I went and did it again in 2015-16.  Never again.

Yeah, I remember rooting for him to figure it out while he was on the Cubs, and I’m glad that he seems to have done it.  This is the hitter we all thought he could be.

Definitely, but it’s still watchable.

I’ll say that the scene where Bev’s dad completely goes off the deep end and chases her across town is bar none the scariest scene in the book.  By far.  Nothing IT manages to do even approaches this part.

I suppose in a way it’s better that he latched onto right-wing grifting/idiocy as his thing, because otherwise he would absolutely have committed a mass shooting when he was in school.
