This entire notion that people in business won't think beyond a few months just doesn't add up.
by itself, $60 is not a huge investment. But doing that over and over and over again is a pretty huge investment that quickly eats into my personal entertainment budget. I would prefer to stretch my dollar farther rather than blow it all on potentially bad purchases.
Maybe devs do care a bit about how many sales they can make in the long term. But investors want quick returns on their investments and if those returns don't come quick enough, then investors lose interest in future ventures. That is why the first three months are given so much more weight than any following months.
