I really don’t think there’s such a thing as “battle royale monopoly”. You can’t monopolize a particular genre, especially given that one of the biggest games in it is not one you own.

It depends on the goal of your boycott. Is it to bring Blizzard down? Then no, that won’t work. Is it to avoid giving money to shitbags? Then you can succeed quite easily.
Honestly, it makes sense. I get that a lot of people like the multiplayer, but the main draw of The Last of Us by a wiiiiiiide margin was its single player campaign. The multiplayer was just the cherry on top. It’s a nice cherry, but it’s not what you order the cupcake for.
Or, you know, upvotes that actually mean something. Why is this comment visible while dozens more are hidden again?
As a fellow lesbian I couldn’t agree more. Who you want or don’t want to fuck should NOT be who you are as a person.
“Ellie, stop, the bells are ringing!”
I really don’t think it makes sense to re-release it on PS5, since it’ll be backwards compatible. It’s far more likely we’ll get a patch or DLC (probably the former, since Sony will want to entice people to switch) that updates the graphics, kinda like some games got updates to take advantage of PS4 Pro.
I’d really love for it to be true, but so far everything we’ve seen points to a pretty generic revenge plot. Even Neil Druckmann said the game is about “hatred”, so I don’t know what else could have happened to make Ellie hate those people so much besides them killing her girlfriend and potentially raping/abusing her.
With a healthy dose of “Rape as backstory”, it seems! You know, for a guy who claims to have been inspired by Anita Sarkeesian Neil Druckmann’s stories aren’t all that feminist.
If Valve refuses to change its rules and post the court’s decision to Steam within a month, it will have to pay a fine of up to 3,000 Euros per day for up to six months.
Oh yeah, it’s definitely those reporting her that are at fault and not, you know, the Twitch staff that suspended her. What a way to place blame where it belongs.
By acknowledging that A) the male characters are sexualized too (pretty much every game has a scene with the main character shirtless or naked, and there’s often a “naked” camo option too for games that have camo at all); and B) there’s creepy hidden minigames involving male characters too (like getting Kaz down to…
So?
I was the same way. One of my most highly upvoted Reddit posts ever is me clowning on Jared on his old subreddit - in part because I felt so hurt and betrayed. I’ve been a fan of his from before he was even on YT, at least 10 years now, and all of a sudden I was seeing this complete fucking predator. It was like when…
He said in the video that nobody reached out to get his side, so I’d be willing to assume no.
People scoff at the phrase “ethics in games journalism” because the group that popularized it is trash, but yeah, a lot of the time on Kotaku I only ever see half the story. A lot of details are deliberately omitted, or news/developments are straight up not published. Not super ethical, since there’s clear bias in a…
That’s the alt-left for you.
How often have you sent your ID to random people online? Especially in a sexual context?
Okay, and what happens when the underage follower claims they’re 18?
Is there a certain amount of manipulation in the video? Yeah, definitely. But that doesn’t somehow negate the ample evidence presented in it.
