I really don’t think there’s such a thing as “battle royale monopoly”. You can’t monopolize a particular genre, especially given that one of the biggest games in it is not one you own. 

It depends on the goal of your boycott. Is it to bring Blizzard down? Then no, that won’t work. Is it to avoid giving money to shitbags? Then you can succeed quite easily. 

Honestly, it makes sense. I get that a lot of people like the multiplayer, but the main draw of The Last of Us by a wiiiiiiide margin was its single player campaign. The multiplayer was just the cherry on top. It’s a nice cherry, but it’s not what you order the cupcake for.

I really don’t think it makes sense to re-release it on PS5, since it’ll be backwards compatible. It’s far more likely we’ll get a patch or DLC (probably the former, since Sony will want to entice people to switch) that updates the graphics, kinda like some games got updates to take advantage of PS4 Pro. 

I’d really love for it to be true, but so far everything we’ve seen points to a pretty generic revenge plot. Even Neil Druckmann said the game is about “hatred”, so I don’t know what else could have happened to make Ellie hate those people so much besides them killing her girlfriend and potentially raping/abusing her.
