You'd think the goblins that work at every comic store would love to have a female coworker so they could slowly attempt to interact with a woman and perhaps learn a new skill (being a human being). BUT NOPE
WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CALL A ROOM IN YOUR COMIC BOOK STORE A "RAPE ROOM?
great, can't shop there anymore.
Still trying to figure out what he doesn't condone, calling it a rape room, or making it known publicly why you got fired.
Those who have know us for years must realize that we do not condone this behavior.
I've been to a lot of comic book man-caves with my significant other, and while it's anecdotal I can count on one hand the number I've felt welcomed at. Usually it's surreptitious, awkward staring and clipped, unfriendly responses to any questions. I gave up on the local shops, preferring to do my Christmas/Birthday…
maybe i will go to salem this weekend and ask about their rape room
I'm hoping it's the room where they keep their vegetable oil.
Ugh, I know. I would love to support local comic book stores rather than retreat to the interwebz for my comics, but I'm extremely intimidated by the "Imma take her to the rape room" vibe I get from most of the stores (not all, but many).
Worst name for a room ever.
Oh, fuck this guy. You have a side of the story. A storage space called a 'rape room' is OK; female employees who object to its name get terminated.
Ughh... it's hard to be a comic-loving lady, sometimes. Every time we speak up, people tell us to STFU and "learn to take a joke".
How can you have a story to tell when you supposedly weren't even involved in the situation?
We've all heard his side of the story before: "It is just a joke." "She didn't want to work." "I had no idea this has happened." "She is just lashing out." And so on. All the same lame excuses for tolerating this kind of nonsense.
"My side of the story" is becoming the exclusive property of indefensible shitwads.
