To be fair, IIRC, the shooter was able to walk out of the restaurant, grab a gun, and then walk back in. Most conventions I’ve been to at the very least post metal detectors at the entrances.

bag checks....metal detectors....
When our country’s healthcare system can bankrupt a person for having a medical emergency, this is inevitable.
The Department of Customs and Border Protection already exists. ICE is a paramilitary department whose only function in the 10 years it has existed is to terrorize and illegally imprison immigrant populations without due process.
I sure as hell would be bitter if my country handcuffed people and kept them overnight at a facility with no beds. America keep treating the world like slaves, maybe out of old habits?
*ahem*
Shut it down, this is the best comment we’ll see all day
Thank god ICE is here to protect us from nerd artists. They might have drawn a sword on someone.
Fuck this administration. Fuck the republican party.
Good story, Cecilia.
You worked hard on it and I hope you feel good about being part of important change. (I’m often critical of kotaku, outside of refreshing it 10x a minute.)
These sorts of reports, are hard to do, and I don’t know how the pay scale works, but I imagine it can’t be worth it monetarily. Like, you’ve…
Have a friend who works at Riot, and he’s been describing some pretty crazy changes going on.
It just goes to show how splintered even YouTube’s audience is. When Kotaku did an article about VidCon (the YouTuber convention) a few months ago, I had never heard of any of the attendees, despite many of them having over a million subscribers, some having over 10 million.
In better news, Jirard the Completionist managed to raise $60,000 to fight dementia, got Jamie Lee Curtis to wax his arms, AND he doesn’t have to complete Garfield Kart!
One of the best things about being in my 40s is having no clue who these people are.
Not even gonna lie, this has been one of my favorite songs for decades, and this rendition is...well, it puts me in mind of some of the early MIDI efforts that populated the Internet back in the 90s.
It is, in short, awesome.
And speaking of churches, their athletic director works for Liberty now. Falwell’s political hypocrisy transfers nicely to athletics it seems.
That moment is going to get blasted around a lot today. But here is the thing to remember. Trump shit all over him for being a POW, then McCain voted in line with what Trump wanted 80% of the time. I get the idea that 80% is better than 100% but it’s still shitty and spineless.
No point suing her now; she can declare bankruptcy as she has no income, and move on. Wait until she gets out of jail and gets a job first and then sue and apply for a wage garnishment. The only way they’d see any money from her now is if she already had significant financial assets to seize.
I watched a bit of the video. Even after being outed for her lies and convicted, she was still protected. When the second victim was called up they made sure to move her to the left side of her lawyer as a means of protection.
I'd say they've got a case.
