Have you ever worked retail? Especially at a place that sells new and used items? This is going to be a nightmare when explaining the console (and its exclusives) to folks who have no idea what they are to begin with. If they would've named it 3DS+, that would've been a better alternative.

Except that GBA and GBC were different generations of systems, so it really isn't the same... But the New 3DS is some weird half step, so I get why people would have a problem with it having exclusives. That being said, I never got a 3DS so it doesn't affect me and I'm going to get a New 3DS.

Speaking as a parent and an uncle who is constantly having to come up with small-priced items to get as presents, it is okay. "Which traps do they need? Cool, I'll go spend $12 and make them stupidly happy." That's great.
