Oh, sweet summer child, what internet were you reading? Because it totally happened, and it was very, very ugly.

Well, because there’s a strain of Afrocentricism that’s basically historical pseudoscience, and because there are plenty of non-black people that live in Africa, like, for instance, many of the people living in North Africa.

True, but we do know that the Pharaohs at least commissioned these statues and inscriptions, so presumably they at least represented what they wanted to look like. That’s why you see Queen Hatsheput changing her look to be more masculine as she moved from being a priestess to being a ruler.

Man, how cool was that guy.

That’s true... its not like there weren’t a ton of Italian actors around at the time that would have probably done the job.

The truth is that we don’t know 100%, and certainly their art has long been recognized to be heavily stylized (much like how anime characters often seem ambiguously), and apparently restricted a bit just on what pigments were available.

Lord of Light is just damn awesome.

I can kind of give 20th Century Hollywood a slight pass, because how many English speaking Egyptian actors were around for them pull from? I bet it was probably a lot more than you’d expect, but it is still smaller than today, when you have lots of great talent you could pull from.

Maybe the rendering isn’t done? GOTG looked better than the trailers.

Maybe this would work better if I pretended this was a post-human future where technology has lead to some people becoming god like beings, and maybe some of them were big into Egypt?

I think they’re more likely to cut the lower performing shows first though. You don’t have to be good, just better than the rest. And Sleepy Hollow, Minority Report, and some others are probably on the block first. Maybe Scream Queens too? I heard those ratings aren’t great lately.

Well, if you’re going to do a crossover with Doctor who, you may as well throw in The Terminator and Sarah Conner Chronicles.

It’s always nice to see Missy show up to help other people with their murders.

I just looked up what TV By the Numbers thinks, and they say it’s Fox’s #3 highest rated drama, and has solid ratings. Minority Report though... well, Future Dead Zone is probably gone.

I predict Janis doesn’t give a Fuck will be on HBO at some point.

Not where I was going, but just as valid.

I figured there might be :)

Oh man, it’s really exciting to have Pat here.

Man, that show was cut down in its prime. A bit of a slog in the first season, but the second season really doubled up on the pathos.

I’ve always enjoyed them because they combine the fear of plagues, crowds, cannibalism, and dark spaces quite nicely, without needing an elaborate backstory and magic like you do with a werewolf or a vampire.
