I can see the usefulness of a smart mirror like this. It should also has a camera builtin behind the glass so it will stay on as long as it sense movement. After the user signed off, the camera can be used as a hidden security cam.

I have been to a number of countries and noticed something that US definitely win, the number of STOP signs on the road. Exactly my point, guns need to be registered so situations like you described can be avoided. There will probably be a website you can enter the serial number to check before paying the pawnshop for the gun. If you still decide to buy it, then you deserve to have your gun taken away.
