Uniting the kingdoms by usurping the rule of others through blood and fire. Just because they forced several rulers instead of just one to "bend the knee" doesn't change the fact that they were conquerors and usurpers.

The cancer-free date guy reminded me of another super desperate and clueless dude: I had gone on a few lukewarm dates with a guy I met online. He was nice, but I just wasn’t sure if it was going anywhere yet. One Friday, we had plans to meet up that night, but that afternoon, my family found out that my grandmother…
I don't hate her, and maybe she has the best potential as a ruler now that she has a real adviser. I just don't think her hubris is earned and it is silly for her to call Westeros her home and non-Targaryen rulers "usurpers". Targaryens were the original usurpers and she hasn't lived in Westeros since she was born.
She's got tunnel vision just like her brother had and it is getting worse. Like you said, how does she expect to conquer Westeros when she can't even keep Meereen in line? Dragons are great, but you have to be able to ride one first…..and then what?
The White Walkers, the war they are bringing, is what is going to "break the wheel". Those who win that war will be the ones who consolidate power in Westeros, or not, if the WW win…..I don't think they care much for politics.
Was I the only one who chuckled when Tyrion was going on to Dany about “you are the last Targaryen. All of the Starks are dead.” I really feel like they are beating us over the head with these allusions to R + L = J.
He likely didn’t mention that Martells because they are probably the only major house that was still more or less loyal to the Targaryens. It wouldn’t be a hard sell to get them to support Dany’s rule.
I would like to co-sign this theory. Too good to be true, though :(
I imagine since she’s the only other person aside from Reek and Myranda who have contact with Sansa privately, Ramsay figured out it was probably the old lady who tried to help Sansa.
She will use it on Theon, not Ramsay. When he delivers her meal, she’ll use it to get out of the room and go light the candle herself.
I didn’t want to see this scene, and I knew it was coming. But as to your question “why...exactly?” Well, something had to happen to Sansa that would be bad enough for her to go light a candle in the tallest tower of Winterfell and summon Brienne to her rescue, which is going to happen. Rape, unfortunately, was…
Even if I hadn’t read the books and known what happens to Ramsay’s new wife, it seemed pretty obvious that something bad was going to happen to Sansa. It had to, unfortunately. If Ramsay was just an asshole brat like he was at the dinner table, it wouldn’t be enough for Sansa to go light the candle in the tower that…
You're pretty perceptive, because I read that Matthew Weiner teased the finale by mentioning that it would mirror the first episode.
The character Wex describes events that only someone who actually did follow Bran and Rickon after the Sack of Winterfell would know, since we do know what happened for sure up to the point that Bran separated from Rickon. This account is communicated to Davos and he is commanded to travel to Skagos to find Rickon by…
My first post-college job interview was with one of these outfits. Went through the first part of the interview, it’s all good, and I show up for the “job shadow” part. A red flag should have gone up when they explained why they do the “job shadowing”.....apparently a lot of people they hire don’t understand the…
Looks like it also works on game consoles. The ten bucks is probably worth it if you have one of the many supported devices; unfortunately, it sounds like there is just no solution for your individual problem! Sorry!
I think they will eventually send Sam to the Citadel, but not with Aemon, and it will probably be for a more practical reason: they will need a new maester on the Wall (Aemon isn’t long for their world), they need to find out more about Dragonglass, fighting the White Walkers, etc. As for Melisandre, I think she will…
I felt that Melisandre said that phrase to Jon Snow specifically to show him her power and knowledge.
I don’t think Jorah gets redeemed. I saw a set photo and it appears that he winds up in the fighting pits.
Well, Alfie Allen (Theon/Reek) said there was a scene halfway through this season that would be controversial and hard to watch and that his character is a witness to it. Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) said that there is a scene he filmed that he didn’t want to do when he first read it in his script. Signs are pointing to…
