It’s a slow growing industry reserved for the relatively wealthy until it either becomes seamless (maybe with fancy glasses) or much, much cheaper.

Yeah I have been holding out on a quest 3. Maybe this is just a trick to sell off quest 2 inventory before August.

VR is not the 3DTV of 2020s. It’s pretty much took vehicle simulations to the next level and don’t get me started on worlds like Skyrim VR or a modded Commonwealth of Fo4VR.  PCVR is VR.  Not Quest 2 wireless Beat Saber.

My exact thoughts. Why would anyone pay extra for this instead of just waiting for the Q3.

This is such a bizarre choice. They had 18 months between the Quest 1 and Quest 2, and it’s been almost 22 months since the second headset dropped in October of 2020. Why take the PR hit when they could have just ceased production on the Quest 2, introduced a minorly upgraded Quest 3 as soon as they could get them off…

Why? The Quest 2 is not likely to give out any more valuable user data to Facebook than you just gave out to several companies by leaving that comment.

Trust or don’t care? For me and probably a lot of other people, its the latter.

In theory you would think that someone who wants to get into law enforcement wants to do it to protect people and help their community but in practice most people get into law enforcement because they want the power trip that comes with it. Yet, there are police groups in some countries you never hear about doing these horrible acts. You can have a police force that isn’t a bunch of bullies who can do whatever they want, with no accountability.

There’s so many different reasons for this, but mainly because police forces in many nations are trained to be neutral arbiters, who’s goal is to de-escalate situations. This is another reason why the police officers in many nations do not carry a gun as standard equipment.

Why in hell police are just like a bunch of pieces of shit all over the world? This “de facto” police thing around the world is just crumbling. I don’t believe we can’t create something superior or useful to society. Police all over the world are like a “necessary evil”.
