Oh sure, I’m not saying they’re equivalent, just that they’re both something that casual players tend to value more than hardcore players. When I hear casuals talk about MK their focus is often the over the top gore, and that’s present nowhere more than in the fatalities. I would agree that shipping it without a story

That’s hardcore player talk haha. Not saying you’re wrong (because as you mentioned they don’t release statistics on it), but the matches you’re watching on Twitch and Youtube represent the minority of players, the hardcores. The majority of people who buy the game are casual players who don’t invest the time and

You just had to go and remind us all Tommy Tallarico exists haha.

Isn’t this is just typical of a big industry? You won’t get big without the casual contingent because those considered hardcores are essentially by definition a niche. Casuals will always make the lion’s share of the revenue when you’re thriving, so if you get big and want to stay big you’re going to focus a lot of

If you thought Control was a mindfuck, you’re not ready for Alan Wake 2.

It’s right on the money that Miguel is obsessed with the canon, for sure. That’s what gives him his “villain” status; he has good intentions but that obsession blinds him from the seeing the whole picture. Good point about Spot being a big factor in the Mumbattan incursion; I thought I remembered that happening but I

Oh yeah the Spider Society-TVA/Miguel-He Who Remains parallels are definitely thickly laid on and I totally agree that Miguel is gatekeeping the canon similar to how He Who Remains was gatekeeping the Sacred Timeline.

But from my understanding incursions weren’t really directly a TVA concern (in Loki at least), and

Indeed, and that was four gores and seven spears ago

Obviously I don’t know the answer to most of these, but with some I don’t think the questions are burning all that hotly haha. Some takes:

Yeah I didn’t think there was any lingering question at all as to how Earth 42 Miles became the Prowler. With no Spider-Man in that world to look up to and Jefferson dead, he follows the example of the only male role model he has in his life.

I would make Jesus in every wrestling game I played, and give him the Crucifix Powerbomb as his finisher haha. In a bunch of them I also made Satan and Buddha (with the Judgement Slam and Bonzai Drop as their finishers, respectively). I know I made Lincoln in a couple as well after I’d learned he did actual pro

This is pretty much my exact take on it. But I also come from a far away time where a few medium-res screenshots could get people hyped beyond belief, and there’s a solid chance you would never see actual footage of a game before release (and were still excited as all get out for it).

Those were crazy times, I really miss the Dreamcast. Groundbreaking console in so many ways.

Some solid entries here! I would have Crysis over Far Cry because Crysis was pretty much the gold standard for graphics for a hot minute. Gears of War has also been mentioned below and that’s a good one. But I feel like so many games could fit here, so I can’t be too picky with what’s not on it. BUT, as a big fighting

I was pretty blown away by it too. The real-time environments were insane, and it was crazy that they actually ended up looking better than the prerendered ones.

I dunno how Far Cry made the list instead of Crysis. Crysis was like THE bar for a while.

Guile: “Go home and be a family man, Ken”

You say horrifying, I say biblically accurate

If my thumbs were completely obliterated by the Dreamcast controller I’d give you a thumbs up

FINALLY, I’ve been waiting too long
