Exactly, it’s the best Star Wars. How is this a bad thing? =P

“Single-player MMO” was pretty much the phrase I always used to describe it to friends who hadn’t played it. I really enjoyed that feel as someone who couldn’t fully get into MMOs at the time and wanted something different from traditional turn-based single player RPGs. It took a lot of what worked with both.

Yeah I basically used summons just for fun and because they looked cool. When I wanted to do some real wrecking, Quickening chains were the way to go.

Yup, Vaan ended up just being an avatar, and honestly I thought it was the best way to go. I loved that they pulled a fake-out with the by-the-numbers andro dude you’d expect to be the main protagonist, only to have him essentially be a background character that allows you access to the much more interesting ones. 

Totally agreed. The narrative and world building I really fell in love with. It was familiar but still such a breath of fresh air for a FF game. And I really enjoyed that even though things did inevitably go “Let’s go kill a god” at the end, for much of the game we got an intimate, well-constructed political drama…

Wow, this might literally be the first time I’m not taking advantage of any of the PS Plus offerings. I already have A Plague Tale (and if you don’t, definitely grab that) and Virtua Fighter 5 (from last month), and don’t really have any desire to play Battlegrounds or Black Ops 4 when it doesn’t have a real campaign.

Right you are, keep Team Ninja far away from everything but gameplay, Other M is unforgivable haha. But it appears Square Enix might be to blame for the bad stuff, which kinda circles back to your original comment.

Honestly I’m not surprised at all, though I’m optimistic about FFXVI, whenever that happens. But Stranger of Paradise looks like it could at least be pretty fun, especially with Team Ninja on the combat. Everything else about it just looks ass, but at least it’s to a hilarious degree haha.

Pretty solid lineup this week! Other than not understanding the Risk of Rain one (never played it), they all hit to some extent for me. My only complaint is that it needs more CHAOS!
