Do you ride a Harley?
Do you ride a Harley?
The most irrelevant motorcycle company that sells 265,ooo motorcycles a year?
Yup, those WLAs went everywhere, through mud, rain, hell or highwater.
This is not Harley Davidson making a adventure bike, just a concept put together by the Indian factory using a Street 750.
Cannot use belt drive in the dirt. Only chain drive works.
You can feel by the vibration when you need to upshift, and by the torque when you need to downshift. There is not a very wide rev range anyway.
Spoked wheels are more flexible. Instead of breaking like a cast wheel or transmitting the shock to the frame or the drive train and damaging them, they flex and take the shock themselves.
I have a 2015 KTM 1190 Adventure R with TKC80 knobby tires but haven’t been able to do as much dirt as I would like. The knobbies wear out faster on pavement, but the dream lives on.
I have a 2007 Softail custom with a 96 inch balanced engine which is hard mounted to the frame and I don’t feel any vibrations. Very comfortable bike.
I have the 2015 KTM 1190 Adventure R and it is a crazy bike. 150 hp. 150 mph. Best adventure bike on or off road.
Rubber mounted engine. You can feel the engine at idle, but not when riding.
Torque is 115 ft-lbs at 3500 rpm. Horsepower is not specified by Harley for any of their bikes.
Looks great to the people who like it.
Gloss black.
They thought you were a “experienced” rider.
I have a 2007 Softail and don’t feel the heat. Of course it is better to keep moving with a air cooled engine. That’s why we have lane sharing in CA. We are never stuck in traffic.
144,000 on my 2007 Softail Custom.
We get it that you don’t like Harleys. And since you don’t like them, you have no idea why people buy them. All your statements are just conjectures. Or are you just envious? Buy a Harley and find out why people buy them. You will be surprised.
I ride a Harley every day and read motorcycle magazines and blogs too. I also ride a KTM 1190 R. Each bike is excellent at what it does.
As you yourself said “The Harley sounds good and looks good” but you were not willing to pay the price. Well other people don’t care about the price and buy exactly what they want, but they are not stupid as you make them out to be. Ride what you like and let others ride what they like. No use name-calling them just…
