The problem with that was pointed out in the article. I could grief you for a while, and then turn on Passive mode, and you wouldn’t be able to do anything to me. 

I can’t take that response seriously when we’re talking about a video game, and a shooter at that. 

But this isn’t changing anything for the “asset flippers”? Their cut hasn’t gone up or down with this news. 

Except Valve doesn’t pay their bills with PERCENTAGES. They pay their bills with money. A place that has made lots of money has paid Valve more than a place that hasn’t. 

But it’s also much, much easier for that AAA studio worth several billion to create their own website/store to sell their games on, and not have to worry about that cut at all, than it is for an indie game to do so. 

I completely understand and sympathize with the idea that indie games should be able to pay a smaller cut. But the idea that indie games are somehow “subsidizing” games that make over $10 or $50 million is asinine. 

Apparently this is the only time in the franchise’s history that they’ve done it. 

It’s almost like there’s historical context around people saying they’re going to eliminate gay people, and then actually following through with it. 

Someone who is intent on killing you, if they are determined as in this story, can still do so. It just takes much, much longer to do so. The correct action would be for no damage to be done if a griefer is trying to kill a character.
