I have the same response to this as when Musk said his piece. Computers will do what they are programmed to do and learn what they are programmed to learn. IF we get wiped out by computers it will be not because they are malicious but we screwed up in their creation.

This story is hilarious: Google has a payment system, the carriers were so scared of Google becoming the dominant player that they did everything they could to prevent Google from getting a solid foothold and let Apple walk in...

Not having any experience with it.. just how good are the pressure sensitive styluses (sytli?) compared to a Wacom? Do they still have Fat tips? How well does the 9" screen work for Photoshop?

Collage, i was considering a communications major. Part of the requirement was to have an email account and use the local unix system for email and file transfer. Once i got the hang of it, i did a bit more reading on my own and discovered the usenet. My wife said she recalls seeing post of mine from rec.arts.anime

Not online, but i wanted to surprise a girl once. We were co-workers and planning on hanging out at a bar after work. During her shift, i bought her a present, took her car keys from her purse, put it in her car where i knew she'd find it, and put her keys back. After the shift, she went to grab some clothes to

If they can sell their cables at a decent price.. i'm all for it. I'm tired of going to local stores and seeing jacked up prices for cables. Saw an analog audio cable for $30 recently....

Once Apple publicly announces that they invented the Smart Watch, it might start selling in greater numbers.

As a photographer, a mid sized tablet lets me more easily carry around my portfolio to show prospective clients/models, if i meet them live. I also found that using a wifi card and a tablet was more convenient that tethering a

I'm thinking they could do this more as POV VR. Make the view just 180 degrees and place the camera in a strategic position to simulate the star's head. This would also allow for easier placement of lights.

I don't know is it was the very first community, but it's the earliest one i remember staying active in for a while:

Because yes... the eye candy from an old MTV game show is a more credible source on medicine than the established medical community...

embarrassingly enough.. "Good times"

Well Scientology already relies on aliens...

Being good coders doesn't mean they will be good at running a large organization or good at the logistics of taking leadership of Android.

Just my opinion, but the concept itself doesn't seem bad... but his execution. I think i might like it more if the photos were better done. They are not bad, but very much on the amateur side. Shots are full of unflattering shadows and color cast from mixed lighting. Considering that and the mentioned website...

hm.... i guess it's just me that searched for Frosted Christmas Cake .(

I could have sworn Chase Jarvis coined that quote, but either way, i think we share that same sentiment.

Here's the rub for me. For most people. they don't care that much for absolute image quality. They only care that it's good enough. More and more cell phone are falling into the good enough category for most people. While those high end point and shoots are doing incredible things... most people don't want to

I feel the real key is not if the image is better, but if it's good enough.
