Ah, a film guy. Me too, up to a couple of years ago. Exposing for digital is not at all like exposing a negative; more like transparencies where, once a spot is clear, that’s it, no recovering it in the darkroom.

They really are indispensable in many situations. I’ve used a nutcracker many, many times while disassembling a car that I’m restoring. A word of caution though; chances are very good that you’ll end up destroying the bolt as well, so be prepared with a replacement plan in mind.

The entire concept of instant apps makes me think of this. I really don’t get the benefit to having a stepping stone between apps and webpages.

As a shooter and a liberal absolutely hate the NRA

It’s times like this that I hate my legal education, because, well, if she’s asking for damages on account of a claim that she has been utterly unable to have sex since the incident, then she has to provide at least some evidence that she has been utterly unable to have sex.

It’s probably worth mentioning that some of these filters are readily applied via software, where others, such as UV, Polarizing, Macro or ND cannot be easily emulated in post production. B&W or color tinting such as warming or cooling is trivial to apply digitally.

I think a lot of TV critics believe a series about a savage, war-torn, and ravaged middle ages world should subscribe to 21st century liberal sensibilities. Of course, no one was outraged when the witch was being gang-raped in the first season, because we only care about these things when they happen to pretty women

Of all the weak, seemingly-wannabe-edgy-thoughtpieces that purport to be worthwhile opinions on this shit, this is so far the weakest it almost hurts to read.

No. Do not do that. Do not ever threaten to do that. I was raped when I was younger, and I was afraid to tell my father because I knew he would want to do something like that. I was so afraid of what would happen, so I never told him. So, please, if something should ever happen to one of your daughters, make sure you

No. We'll just be armed guys with dirty asses.

Now playing

Last time I saw Jon Stewart kick anybody that hard in the dick, it was Tucker Carlson on Crossfire.

Wow. What a one-sided article. The vote spam is actually about ethics in games journalism.

Um, not for nothing, but Jezebel was only concerned about Jennifer Lawrence. The WoC who were hit? Yeah, the silence was deafening. No one came to Jill Scott's defense. No one came to Gabrielle's. It is what it is, I guess.

Where do you think these "PC expert or an IT pro" come from? They are just the monkeys that survived their tinkering instincts. :p

Surely you mean megablocks, as those thing are terrible anyways.

I first saw this headline as "Beware of TEXAS When Settling Your Debt." Taxes makes much more sense. I didn't think Texas would come after me, but you never know...

This is a great idea, provided people actually read your emails. I find myself constantly frustrated that all of my work contacts seem to be limited to reading only the first sentence of an email. If I type up a paragraph, the response is usually a question asking for the exact information I have presented in sentence

Education

the saddest part about this is that the organization rejected the money they wanted to donate.

Any time somebody makes a broad generalized statement of ANY group, without qualifiers, expect someone who doesn't wish to partake in thoughtless binaries to answer with "Not all..." That's life on Planet Earth.

Yes, the Protective Knights of Male Whitedom are annoying, but most people who are intelligent would rather
