I get that ATP is the best metric we have to work with, but it’s kinda lousy. One of the reasons ATP is down is because of the change in inventory types. Owing to the shortages of the past several years, there are fewer cars for sale that are 1-4 years old than cars 5+ years old. Older used cars are cheaper, so this

Ok, maybe I don’t understand how the system works; but what I understood was that the Kia Connect App lets you see a live 360 stream of the vehicle surroundings. Are people really sitting at dinner or in a meeting with a live 360 stream of their vehicle open on their phones? Or does that function also do recording and

If it’s anything like our EV6, the features described in that sentence are available remotely in the app with Kia Connect. Though maybe not all of them are available in each of the paid tiers.

No no. The Kia Connect app uses the EV9s cameras to take 360 snapshots so that you can see what’s going on around the vehicle when you use the app.

Wait wait wait… the 360 camera is locked behind a subscription?

I hate the comparison of comparing getting the full power out of your EV to getting a “tune” on your gas car. For an ICE engine engineering has to balence multiple aspects of an engine, economy, NVH, driveability, reliability, and power. It’s a balancing act.

Hyundai dealers gonna do what Hyundai dealers do. $68k is a lot of money for a Hyundai. $88k is Porsche money. For either amount, you can buy a used, very low mileage Porsche Taycan 4S of varying years that has taken the brunt of depreciation already.

this is a pretty thoroughly mid-sized car, not to mention 2.5 tons. Automotive journalists should at least try to keep things in perspective.

I love dual-sliding doors, but if you’ve ever had one of the newer minivans open for work, you realize how big of an opening these vans have in their skeleton that needs to be addressed when it comes to 2nd row safety.

All they talked about were a bunch of gimmicks. I want to know about the fundamentals. How sorted out is the chassis? How’s the steering feel? Does it load up in corners? These are all things the EV6 GT doesn’t do well. I couldn’t care less about fake gears and sythetic engine noises.

Maybe, but that $67k doesn’t include any interest. So, you would probably be looking closer to $750/month minimum.

That is only $67k, I don’t think that is happening.

The GX is a Land Cruiser Prado

Perfect!

Pyramid scheme, pretends to be currency. Slightly less scammy than NFTs.

Uh, what? This smells like bullshit to me.

My Chevy Bolt uses about 29Kwh to drive 100 miles.
I pay .25 per Kw to charge at home. That’s $7.25 for 100 miles.

My gas car gets about 22 mpg combined, for 100 miles that’s 4.5 gallons @ $4/gal = $18 in regular gas for 100 miles.

Ask to talk to nearly anyone that’s bought a telluride in the last 2 years. With markup and options, they’re over 60k in Colorado, but you’ll see one at every stoplight.

I know where you are going with this. You are living in the past. Get up to speed.

Perhaps they are people who want an electric car with proper body panel gaps?

It’s probably twice as nice as the Tesla too, which reading about the Model S doesn’t sound like a very high bar in the first place.
