This is the country we seem to have chosen for ourselves.

Whenever I check in with the gun-toting nuts on my Facebook feed, their posts are all centered around the idea that gun owners are extremely responsible and competent individuals. After all, they know the technical difference between a rifle and and assault rifle, so only their opinions are valid, right? They know how

Damn it! UNT is my alma mater, and I grew up 20 miles away. Shit like this never used to happen. What a sad start to 2016.

...Here someone is doing the right thing and driving people back from NYE celebrations safely and what happens? Some piece of shit kills her. I hope they find him soon.

Ways Hillary is like my grandma: ...

Those are metaphors, randilyn

Yea, the only surprising thing about those numbers is that Sanders is only up by 10 points in NH. If I was a Clinton supporter, the fact that she is closing on Bernie in an early state that is tailor-made for him would be very encouraging.

Not a Democrat.

I have a very simple template so that my kids can journal with me. We write down 3 things:

Never trust an Evangelical when he offers to “pull it out.”

I suppose. I still think it smacks a little bit of not recognizing that Hillary isn’t her Husband and isn’t on the hook for the shitty things he may have done.

That being said though (Thanks Jon!), replying with “they deserve to be believed at first until they’re disbelieved based on evidence” is a pretty good spur of the moment reply. She could have refused to answer or said something stupid about it not being relevant or something.

Already my favorite movie

I do not know whether this is true or verifiable, but I recall reading that Colin Powell had considered running in the Republican primary against W. but that his wife, Alma, was concerned that her depression might become an issue in a presidential election. Therefore, ultimately, he declined.

Even Idaho hates Ted Cruz.

I am not sure that “likability” is all that important in a president. Decisiveness, intelligence, compassion, inclusiveness and trust are. But likability? Not so much. I don’t need to like my president. I need to respect the president and trust her to do the right thing at the right time for the right reasons. Do I

Name one GOP candidate that is likable? You can’t. Yet nobody seems to worry about that.

I think a shed of similar size costs more and doesn’t have solar panels.

Honestly, I feel like “Mrs.” should be dropped out of language altogether. Ms. & Mr., both of which do not denote martial status. Also Mx. for non gender conforming, if you like.

“Practice your attitude” = “Women and black people should remember how to speak when talking to their betters.”
