Something else that’s come up in this train wreck that’s worth a bit of discussion:
Heck, his questionable finances, possible perjury, and inability to give straightforward answers to simple questions on his judicial philosophy - which we all knew about before any of us heard of Dr. Ford - should have been enough to disqualify him.
You know, let’s try something for a minute. Let’s try and think of rational, legitimate reasons why any man (not just a Republican or a Trumpist) might feel the need to come to Kavanaugh’s (or any other person accused of sexual assault, for that matter) defense.
Can’t find the evidence right now, but there was a game a few years ago - Pirates at SF - where a walk led to an inning ending double play.....
The best parts of the Barnette decision:
Berry-based liqueur (e.g. Chambord) + vanilla ice cream = YUM!
I would LOVE for their to be a proper investigation of all of these allegations. But given that it’s been over THREE DECADES since the incidents are said to have happened, I really doubt anything conclusive will be found. And then what? Do we give Kavanaugh his reputation back? Can we?
What about gorgonzola and roquefort?
Rye whiskey, rye whiskey.
Is it sexist to want Dr. Ford to provide some evidence in support of her accusation?
And start in the trenches of local office, work your way up the ladder learning as you go. Maybe a seat in your state legislature, then when you’ve got a good reputation and know your constituency, try for a seat in the House of Representatives.
It’s also possible that Sen. Feinstein read the letter and realized: “Dr. Ford doesn’t remember exactly when or where the party happened. It was so long ago that getting any supporting evidence is going to be essentially impossible. This is an unprovable allegation. If I start waving this around now, it won’t do…
When it’s only change for the sake of change, and not a genuine improvement.
I don’t even really need to read much of the comments below to see the same thing I’ve seen on many other comment threads.
Maybe she wrote the famous NYT Op-Ed?
Here’s my take on the matter:
Oh. I thought this was going to be about the Wall Street bombing of 9/16/20
They need to upgrade the hurricane categories to reflect the danger from heavy rainfall. Perhaps a letter to go with the numbers that reflect wind strength, like 1A for (comparatively) low winds, but rainfall over 40 inches.
