I tried an Aperol Spritz out of curiosity and loved it. It has replaced the mimosa as my brunch drink.

Plastic jug vodka is good for sterilizing wounds, but not much else. My vodka pet peeve is the grossly overpriced "super-premium" vodka. There is not enough difference in a good mid-priced vodka to justify the extra dollars. Tito's is a good choice both for taste and price, and I like Rain and even Stoli for the…
I'm partial to Carpano Antica myself.
Campari makes a very good addition to most soft drinks. I put a splash in my Coke or Sprite to tone the sweetness down. I've also been swapping out the gin in my negronis with rye whiskey and enjoying that too
In college I kept my vodka in an old style glass I.V. bottle. I had it hang from a hook over the counter and it poured from plastic tubing.
Do we not count The Tick because it is a comedy?
Same era gave us Thank God It's Friday, with Donna Summer and The Commodores. Even had Terri Nunn from before her Berlin days.
You are going to think I am crazy but 2 years ago I was able to purchase a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15yo for $99, and I didn't enjoy it as much as the bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel that I had just finished.
I am going to keep plugging away at coming up with a roster of bourbons that I can reliably enjoy. …
While I really enjoy malt whiskies and ryes I've had a hard time getting into bourbons. I think it is because when I was young I had a cranky alcoholic grandfather who always had a glass of cheap bourbon in his hand. The smell of bourbon is still unappealing to me.
So remember kids. If you want to enjoy bourbon…

I'm going to vote for Casablanca for best final line.
Good call on the Toll series. I have found it to be an easier read than the Atkinson trilogy, and the second book is better than the first. I'm looking forward to the final book next year.
You're right, we need more weapons in the arsenal to fight pain. I'm tired of watching people slowly (or quickly) poison themselves. Cancer is infuriating. The disease causes pain and the treatments cause pain. I'm glad you found something that gives you some relief. I am donating platelets tomorrow to help cancer…
Years ago early in my career we had a woman who would come in to the ED at least once or twice a month with bruises claiming her husband had beaten her. More often than not some MD would give her an rx for pain meds, and then we'd see her and her husband walk home together. An early lesson in how shitty people can…
Big Pharma really pushed long lasting opiods like fentanyl patches, and especially Oxycontin, for chronic non-cancer pain about 10 years ago, claiming the risk of dependence was overblown. They knew better and I think there should have been criminal charges filed
They make a "lollypop" version, but it is short acting and not used often
Fentanyl is fantastically potent and should be reserved for cancer pain, or something similar. I see it prescribed far too often for back pain and peripheral neuropathy. Adding Xanax to that wouldn't be my first choice. This is tragic but fentanyl overdoses are surging and this just adds to the statistics
I believe everything becomes a Love Boat marathon
