Suikoden is on my “I’ll get into that someday” list, so this is great news for geriatric me. Awesome work to the translators, this is probably a big day for some old fans.

There are too many dang cute Pokemon with hats causing me to run out of storage this year

The Fortnite movie already happened, it’s called Ready Player One. (Which Luke argues has literary asperations, something I would disagree with!) Anyways they will do it, it will probably suck, we will survive.

I play Smash competitively and this game is mechanically extremely different. That is something I do know.

To me, complaining about the mood in a Metroid game feels disliking a steakhouse because they cook the broccoli wrong

You should play more indie games

Going to lean in here and make note to anyone reading that the biggest criticism of this game is an entirely subjective one.

If you look into it, Nintendo has genuinely handicapped the Melee scene by shutting down sponsorships and such multiple times. I’m pretty sympathetic to their frustrations and Melee is a cool game to watch. I hope the Nick game is cool and lots of them play it, but they’re not gonna move off Melee for it.

“Platform fighter” has kind of become a genre past Smash. Mechanically this game is different in meaningful ways, just like Brawlhalla or Rivals of Aether. I think at this point calling any platform fighter a Smash ripoff is a bit like calling Mortal Kombat a Street Fighter ripoff.

Also, funny you mention Project M: one of PM’s best players (ThunderzReign) just came in a close 2nd at a 700+ person Nick tournament. PM lives.

I’m hoping this game does well and they get the budget to add voice acting and some other things in a sequel. Then I’d be on board to play casually with friends.

It is insane for employees and outside observers to believe this company’s reforms are in good faith while this shit is happening at the same time. Unionize! These guys suck and you should not expect them to protect you.

I hope they do a sequel. I’m excited for that, basically. Sort out all the shit in the first game and figure out what works and what doesn’t.

Famitsu is a joke for Japanese games, man

Oh man this is a spicy meatball. Exciting to see several quality JRPGs drop this year even if I’m not really playing new ones right now. Good times.

I think they’ve done okay. The only character to get murdered by nerfs was Pichu. Most other top characters have remained top even if nerfed here and there.

Smash Ultimate was just like that, people are still catching strays for bad initial impressions

“arm would give out in 10 minutes” if he button mashed.

Cut the roster down, take a look at fundamentally changing some mechanics (which are broadly still the same as in Melee)

I play it competitively lol, I’m jokin. I won’t take back calling Kingdom Hearts bad though >:)
