I don’t think the hybrids will go up in value enough to “print money” especially after taxes, registration fees, and just being old technology in a few years(new accord getting 49mpg). But I am quite happy at how cheap they got. I just picked up a used camry hybrid XLE for 8K, I dont drive much(maybe 80 miles a week)

Schrodinger Land Rover, if you don’t turn the car on to look at the check engine light, is it broken?

Laws never go away.

Local Credit Unions may have the title on hand, but any large bank do not. PenFed, which Doug mentioned in the article, will give an auto loan to anyone in their union, but do not have locations in most states.

This is actually my favorite generation for the WRX when it comes to looks. Maybe its because thats the generation that was out when I was shopping for my first car and they were way out of my price range. My theory is that the cars that are new when someone is 16-18 are the ones they think are the best looking

Hes in the middle of a huge divorce, in California. Shes going to take him for everything. Hes nervous for many reasons.

You can draw a picture. It says Pics.

Though very true, unfair comparison of a base vs RS version.

The show has always been completely scripted.

It was a 323i before, i think those had 160hp stock, so it is still quite an upgrade. He prob got a good deal on the motor and decided to swap. It wasn’t in an accident, too little miles for a blown engine.

Also, power is cheap these days. 300 horses comes in your daily camry. Manual used to be the way to go faster than the other guy, better efficiency, getting more of your power to the ground. A manual civic was faster than most automatic cars. Now automatics are faster, and power is easy to get so power loss efficiency

Most dont, but the one in the video is an M3, which does.

Noone who lives in a snowy area gets summer tires without a set of winters. Everything comes with all seasons. The better comparison would be to see if all seasons are enough, or do you really need a set of winters and summers.

Dont use a savings account, over the 3-6 years a normal car loan you will get better returns from any mutual fund than the 3% lost on interest. 3% is inflation, you are better off paying it at 3% over 6 years than you are giving cash up front without investing at all.

Absolutely agreed, but if it wasnt for 70k new cars, we wouldnt have wonderful 30k used cars.

The last time I saw a neon was 3 years ago, I remember it cause it was a brown srt-4 driving very fast on the highway, and cause I remember thinking “I havent seen one of those in years”. I assume they all rusted away in chicago.

Nobody has the 50-75k cash to pay for that car, they take the loan at 0%.

Today I Learned: Half of Jalopnic readers dont know what chrome looks like. Half these posts are cast or polished aluminum.

The idea is that modern suspension takes care of the bumps without having the big soft sidewall feel. I think a medium is best, too tall of a sidewall feels sloppy, but a tiny one over a pothole after winter means new wheels.
