Slate, especially Jamelle Bouie.

One more reason to get excited about moving back to CA!

I realized the other day that I actually do hate the sound of children’s laughter. It’s so...high-pitched.

I’m actually surprised we didn’t. I went to an all-girl’s school, and we read a lot of books that were outside of the traditional high school canon. I read Lolita in my senior english elective, so they weren’t shying away from difficult subject matter.

Ugh, I hate him. He’s also an arsonist.

I usually go with shit-weasel, but I’m going to have to switch it up. This guy is my new hero.

Ann Arbor, anyone?

We all say it the British way (at least everyone I know, including me, does).

I actually teared up watching this when it happened.

I am going to see them in concert Saturday and I’m really excited.

It is terrible. When I lived in Boston my friends decided they wanted to go to a Wahlburger’s, but the only one was in Hingham, so we drove an hour (because traffic) to eat crappy burgers. Oh well, it was an adventure.

This is a discussion that we had at my institution during the Geoff Marcy incident (I am in astrophysics), and the rules for having tenure revoked are very specific. I was told a story of a man at one university who had done something similar, and he went through the whole process. The committee agreed that what he

What did the blobfish ever do to get insulted in this manner!?!?

Yes. I was 13. It was awful.

It’s ironic, because they have an honor code. If a student pulled some bullshit excuse like this for cheating, stealing, etc. she’d be expelled. Guess it’s do as I say, not as I do.

I have a five-syllable hyphenated last name. It can be irritating under certain circumstances, but it’s rarely an issue in day-to-day life.

I doubt it. I read an interview with Melania Trump in US Weekly (I was on a plane!) and the kindest thing I can say about it was that it was insipid. She claimed that she challenges him when they disagree, but would not provide any examples and would only talk about how everything about him is great. And I understand
