When I was 15 my mom wanted to go to the Million Mom March for gun control for Mother’s Day, and as such I was not in a position to say no.  I didn’t really know what it would be like and in retrospect this is very silly but I really thought it would get violent.  In reality it was thousands of people peacefully

What more is there to say? It’s the bad branch of the family, anyway. The rest of us are normal, Trump-hating patriots.

This does make me feel slightly better about my cousin being married to Michael Knowles.  Because it could be worse.

Assuming you are in the US, embedded videos haven’t worked on certain versions of Safari in forever.

For those of you bemoaning their access to state lawmakers, if you are in California, call your assembly person about this bill, and get a few friends to call, as well (it has already passed the senate). On the local level, a small number of calls from constituents have a large impact.

Same, down to payless.

Same.  My husband and I were in strong agreement that there was to be no fondant.

That was not my experience at all, as a TA who did take cheating very seriously. Every professor I TA’d for found it too much work to deal with. They wouldn’t let me fail anyone, nor would they let me report it.

I think also they are not like other fruits in that I don’t think they grow them in Chile during the off season.

I also don’t like reading on a backlit screen, like an iPad, but don’t mind my ereader.  The one down side is that it’s harder to flip back to earlier pages.

They’re more plummy than apricot-y.  If you’re in the US, look for them in summer.  You’re more likely to find them at Whole Foods, but when I lived in Boston I did see them in the regular grocery store.  The ones you can get in the store are usually the Dinosaur Egg variety, or maybe the Dapple Dandy.

I cannot endorse that description of pluots.  My one and only true love (don’t tell my husband).

I hate both of those!

I find oranges slightly tricky! But this is also not my personal vision; I forgot to add the credit to the original XKCD.

I find them very tasty!  I forgot to add that this is the original XKCD version of the chart; not my personal version.

I like cotton candy grapes, but can never eat a whole bag!

I forgot to add the credit, but it’s XKCD!

If you are near Michigan, they have good cherries!  But otherwise, yeah.  Living in Boston/Ann Arbor was a real sad time for me.

Fruit ranking really is a multi-axis process, as shown in this chart.  A professor in my department in grad school had all his students fill out their own and taped it to the door of his lab.

Ooh, those are good!
