Regarding Rosen and the newspaper archives: when Rosen mentioned the convenience of the records being there I guessed that they had been planted.  Rosen has been established as genre-savvy, and clearly suspects that Stanton is a chessmaster.  And of course confirmation comes in the diner scene.

That photo is of Kathleen Munroe, not Sarah Manninen.  They don't look that similar and Sarah Manninen hasn't been on Alphas.

Up until this episode, I was becoming increasingly annoyed with the dull procedural beats and lack of a thesis.  Basically, I was only watching for Katee Sackhoff.   But that last scene completely redeemed this series for me.  The show stills struggles to create a detailed sense of place and I'm not a fan of the main

The miscommunication trope (ie. "women are crazy") is often used in relationship comedy, and I think we're supposed to expect that for most of the scene.  But as he's waiting for her, he's clearly anxious about something.  Watch his reaction when she brings up hanging out.  When April leaves, he exhales in relief and

I really wanted to like this, what with the actors involved and the western landscapes.  But this episode was pretty weak.  They need to wean themselves off the incredibly hokey procedural stuff and focus on creating a strong sense of place.  Setting is clearly the series' potential strength.  Some pretty good

An old friend was telling me how much he liked this series, so I marathoned this a year ago.  It was really difficult to get into.  Weak line readings were made worse with heavy exposition.  That said, I bulldozed through and enjoyed getting to know the universe.  It falls below Battlestar, the Treks, and Farscape on

I only noticed this show because it popped up on Hulu a month ago.  Since then, it was barely featured on the front page, so it was easy to miss. I caught up with the remaining episodes and am reasonably impressed.
Definitely better than anything else I've seen on CW.
