hopefully the opening credits are him bustin' a move on that skatin' board

yeah, his first standalone was kinda more about Big, but this season’s was perfect. I love how simple and sad the explanation was for his behaviour: his friend killed himself, so Cheese made himself the most understanding and accommodating person he could so that wouldn’t happen again. what a beautiful concept
Mable and the Cheese episode were about as good as it gets
its insane that s2 hasn't been getting episodic reviews here. it's the best season of TV I've seen all year
Heathen is so fucking good. that closing run of 4 tracks should be in the conversation for his finest work
Blur vs Oasis was just this made-up bullshit by NME to boost sales and the fact that people take it seriously to this day absolutely baffles me. we can just like... enjoy both bands, y’all
that scene in the Missing Pieces where she’s just staring at a fan and incrementally widing her face into a terrifying smile is somehow one of the most unsettling things I’ve ever seen. she’s phenomenal in this movie
“Are we living through something of a golden age of adult-oriented animation?”
jesus, I thought the way Disney treated Alex Hirsch and Dana Terrace was bad, but this shit is unbelievable. if we had an industry wide reckoning on the way animators and VFX artists are treated today, it’d still be about 20 years too late
a live action Season of Mists is all I want really. especially with all the seeds they planted for it in s1 it would be a shame not to follow through
it would be really awesome if they kept doing this (especially using animation for some of the harder-to-adapt stories) while keeping the narrative issues within the seasons themselves. really love that choice
I’ve always thought Dream of a Thousand Cats was just okay too, despite its high status in fan circles. more of a Hob Gadling man too, which they incorporated brilliantly into the season overall - this is a really cool choice and way to adapt two standalone stories
this was so good, Peter Gould really understands the nuances of this character like no-one else. loved the recurring theme of regrets being tempered by these callbacks to the Jimmy era without overdoing it (the Exit sign recalling Chicanery was a particularly nice touch)
the end of season 4 makes me think that they'll pretty much zero in on Vecna and the Mind Flayer as the villains entirely. if there are still human adversaries I suspect it'll be the zealous military dude from s4 (but I hope not because my god was he boring)
this is in fact the bad take. thanks for participating though
I came here to say that McGann was easily the hottest Doctor. it kind of works because he's so goddamn charming, but I do agree that deliberately leaning into that to make a Sexy Doctor kind of sounds like a cynical marketing strategy
Delirium is one of my favourites in the comics and an oddly heartbreaking character, I really hope they do her justice in the show and don't turn her into comic relief or anything
on Australia anyway the Comanche version is available on Disney +. unfortunately it’s not hard-encoded with subtitles, and for some reason the only subtitles available are Closed Captioned so you can’t watch the Comanche dub without also reading about trees rustling and wind blowing between every line of dialogue.…
I just saw it too, and you’re right, she absolutely killed this. easily the most human a Predator lead has ever been without losing the transformation into preternatural badass you have to become to defeat the Predator. she was so good!
I’m so ready for this. don’t even have strong feelings about this franchise, but Trachtenberg has really proved himself as a consistent and dependable action-horror director, and Amber Midthunder is fucking awesome and hasn’t been used well since Legion. this looks extremely up my alley
