they really did a fantastic job making Anakin a character who’s actually, you know, likable and somewhat interesting while keeping it believable that he’d fall to the dark side. of course having 7 seasons of TV time to do that helps, but the character writing was really just so much stronger than in the movies as well.

I think Ahsoka is pretty justified in reaching to Obi-Wan the way she does. He didn’t do a thing to help her during the trial which destroyed her faith in the Jedi, not to mention nearly lead to her execution. This is also the reason she's totally done with the politics and Chancelloring of it all, because the

“plus Colin Ferrell”

“But Yorke, peppy and upbeat optimist that he is, took those cancelled lemons and made rescheduled lemonade.”

I keep forgetting Capaldi is in Suicide Squad 2 and get the biggest grin on my face when I remember. fingers crossed he goes full Tucker

yeah, this episode was a gutpunch. the dialogue in that scene between Peter and Simone was extraordinary

My favourite is probably “Brevity [...] is wit”, from the episode where they go to Washington for Lisa to read her essay

I enjoyed them too, although it’s the hard to deny them just accepting everything about Ahsoka being a Jed with no problems was a pretty anticlimactic end to this whole arc. still, though, there were some really funny line readings. Rafa’s “glad we could help” after Trace chicken’d out the Pyke ship was genuinely great

I feel like this comment honestly applies to most King adaptations. either you go the sprawling 3-hour route (which can produce dreck like It Chapter 2 or absolute winners like Doctor Sleep Director’s Cut; either way you’re only gonna get diehards sitting through the whole movie) or condense it so much that all the

who is Conan O’Brien, and why is she so sad?

The actor who played Anne was absolutely terrific as well, probably the best child actor I've seen in cinema

I agree about Fredwynn’s character development. I was starting to really dislike him and find him the weakest part of the show, but his moment of realisation about what how selfish he could be was super well-done and well-earned. Andre killed it in this episode overall - his knife reveal and vocal coaching Peter were

I love Carrie Coon so much. I’d watch the most critically reviled, stinking piece of tossed-off garbage if she told me to

“Jackson” and “Laramie” were absolutely two of the best indie tracks of the decade. he’s a terrific songwriter

love to (finally!) see Empty Country here - best album of the year so far by a mile. the opening track alone is an absolutely unbelievable piece of music

I still can’t believe that atomic bomb/Threnody for the Victoms of Hiroshima sequence was even shown on television. it’s one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen, and it aired on fucking Showtime

the last scene of that episode where they’re in the Roadhouse, all realising that something is happening at around the same time, is possibly my favourite moment in all of television. as soon as Senor Droolcup goes to Cooper with the “I am so, so sorry” I’m openly weeping.

that’s the same episode that has James, Donna & Maddy singing “Just You and I”, which now that I think of it I want to watch with Kyle Maclachlan immediately

maybe pikes don’t have blood? I dunno, just spitballing here

it was, Katee Sackhoff was in the credits!
