Segal giving Andre the fake orange but saying he wasn’t angry anymore was definitely one of the best jokes of the season so far
I’m fairly convinced his agent is just awful, and he could be getting Broadchurch-level roles if he had a better one. weirdly enough the only good thing I’ve seen him in, other than Who and The Crown, was that film Ryan Gosling directed, which should have been awful but was actually really good
I’m so annoyed that Matt Smith signed onto that dreary-looking mess. someone needs to get him some good roles ASAP
Bushworld Adventures is possibly the best Rick and Morty-related content of all
all the pirate talk in this episode really made me think Hondo would be showing up. I guess that would have been a bit too similar to the Younglings arc in s5 if he’d tried to rob their ship, but I still reckon he’ll show up before this arc is over
Yeah, I thought that album was a bit of wasted potential, but that and the song with Corey Taylor were undeniably killer
this rules. love their ambient shit, although some of this gets outright into electronic banger territory
really wish Shudder would come to Australia, their selection is so good
love this. the weird instrumentation reminds me of Cassadaga but the writing seems a lot darker, more in like with some of the stuff from Ruminations. also really excited that the press release says every song sounds pretty different - great news!
worth the entire show just for Jason Segel’s delivery of the “no, I don’t usually carry spices” joke - so good
I have the worst fucking lawyers.
Empty Country’s debut is essential for indie fans and my favourite thing this year. It’s the solo brainchild of Joe from Cymbals Eat Guitars, for anyone who remembers that incredible band, although his new work is a lot less spiralling noise rock guitar and a lot more country-tinted, but no less absolutely devastating…
crazy to me that this review explicitly quotes the line “If you’re gonna kill yourself / Then for God’s sake just kill yourself” and then tries to find reasons we should listen to the rest of the album.
he’s definitely missing a trick if the “beautiful” song doesn’t become a single before we all die. then again he’d actually have to name songs if he decides to make them singles so who knows lmao
hm, pretty sure I’m not worked up? just stating how much I prefer when the main characters, uh, aren’t the Skywalkers every time, because it restricts the storytelling and potential a lot.
This was basically tailormade for me, as I’ve always been more of a fan of the offbeat, low-key Star Wars which plays out as the major stuff is going on, as opposed to another arc about the Jedi or the Separatists or another trilogy about goddamn Skywalkers. In fact this felt like an episode of the Mandalorian at…
Oh, absolutely. It’s amazing that he gets one, much more outright horror scene towards the end of the film - WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR NAME? - but he’s so, so much creepier just standing around the party with that smile on his face. God I love Lost Highway
I can’t say I’ve ever seen Sky High, alls I know is whatever Final Destination she was in was the first time I was aware she existed
The only good thing this franchise ever gave us was Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but that was an extremely good thing, so it kinda evens out
