his nonplussed reactions to Michael Cera in that scene are legitimately my favourite part of The Return. RIP

wish I liked anything else on that album as much as “Not”, but my god is that a SOTY contender and no mistake

is it just me or is that Seth Rogen one some nightmarish Twin Peaks shit?

yeah, that’s pretty much Peter Gould’s show now. I can’t say I mind, the Gilligan-led seasons had some unnecessary stuff (like Tuco getting milked for every last drop of his character) while the Gould-led seasons are pretty much all about the fantastic characters

you’re absolutely correct.

I’m just here to defend Push the Sky Away. I think it’s an utterly gorgeous album and “Jubilee Street”, “Wide Lovely Eyes”, “Higgs Boson Blues” and the title song are some of his best work of the decade. the ending of “Jubilee Street” live, in particular... unbelievable

absolute madness that Irving doesn’t have a spot on this list

god I was not a fan of the ending of The Endless at all, especially compared to Resolution’s last few minutes which had me staring slack-jawed at the screen for five minutes or more. the idea of getting an even more Hollywood ending than The Endless has me worried

I’d be amazed if anyone with Stipe’s voice and lyrical talent released something absolutely awful (no, Around the Sun doesn’t count, they’d exhausted whatever deal with the devil gave them a near-perfect run)

I think Wasting Light definitely takes that, but I was pretty surprised how much I enjoyed C&G after the dull flop that was Sonic Highways

that Big Thief song is absolutely goddamn mesmerising. I never got into them like I should, but that’s easily one of the best songs I’ve heard all year

I think it’s justified to consider this proof humanity was a mistake

I’m sure this will be a tolerable and open-minded thread of comments here, on The AV Club

yup, this is one of my favourite shows of all time but even I started to feel a bit of fatigue in S5, despite as always some moments that were up there with the show’s best. good choice to go out while still on top (and give us more shows like Undone, RBW and Kate Purdy!)

novelisation is a dumb word for this, but at the same time, catch me buying the one for The Vvitch literally as soon as possible

there’s also confirmation from two sources that it’ll release on Sunday after final mixes are done, but why would that be in the article?

I see Hollywood is taking my many drunken exclamations of “put Zazie Beetz in everything!” to heart, good to see

you could get 2-3 seasons out of the fall of Numenor alone if done right

same here - it was basically half an indie drama welded to half an action movie, which is an utterly ridiculous idea but the actors and Shyamalan’s always superb camerawork somehow pulled it together for me. I really loved that movie

I am very very excited for this, but we all know Purdy’s finest moment was “The Old Sugarman Place” and not “Time’s Arrow”
