“Dirty Laundry” is so good. 2019 needed Danny Brown

Paul, especially, was just a fucking cunt. few things in life are more satisfying than spinning All Things Must Pass in full and knowing it absolutely annihilates  the solo albums by the other Beatles.

“I’ll Take the Rain” is certainly one of their most underrated. gorgeous song

I am also slightly worried she’ll never have a role as good as that again. On the other hand - she probably won’t be drastically underused or disappear for episodes at a time on one season of Fargo. so... bright side

Amber Midthunder is also in this season which is literally the only information required to get me excited for it

it’s their best album period after Blue, no idea why people ignore it

nice to have Ransone highlighted by someone - he’s gone ridiculously unmentioned in all the reviews I’ve read whereas he’s almost as essential as Hader to the film’s success

it’s perfectly fine and occasionally great, as usual it’s the echo chamber making it seem like the opinions are way more negative than they actually are

Now playing

soon as I read this I thought ‘surely the Flaming Lips wrote a song about worms at least once?’ sure enough...

Revival is absolutely fantastic, second to 11.23.63 as far as his best recent material

I just want to say I deeply appreciate what is likely the first ever Katatonia reference on The AV Club

he’s earned a pass of trust from me for Blackcoat, which is one of my favourites of the decade, but indeed there are only so many minutes I can watch Ruth Wilson open a box at glacial pace before my patience starts to wane. I really hope this one is great though

between this and Handlen’s old piece... seems like IT tends to be the source of some of the best writing ever on this site. great work and thank you for reminding me (again) why I love this book so much

The Dark Tower is absolutely fantastic. it’s inconsistent, ridiculous and changes genre basically every book, but it’s also one of the most moving, rich, genuinely insane series I’ve ever read in my life. everyone should read it at least once

oh god you can’t tease us like this

I really hope Charli lives up to the pretty high bar of Pop 2. “Gone” is absolutely terrific, but “Blame it On Your Love” and “1999" are both fairly standard radio tracks that don’t really push her sound forward in an interesting way - I hope this isn’t her ‘appeal to the masses’ album

I know it’s been out a year but “Venice Bitch” really is just unbelievably, jaw-droppingly great

I finally worked up the courage to give Purple Mountains a listen recently. it was more me sitting in silence choking back tears than the grand epic catharsis I hoped for, but what matters is that the music was, is, utterly fantastic. RIP David

I just HIYYYO SILVER AWAY! in the movie (it’s in Chapter One but you barely hear it)

Bobbi is an essential, they did the glorious return of Hunter already but it’s downright unfair if Bobbi doesn’t show up one more time before it ends
