Season 2 was the only one that actually lived up the insane promise of what this show could be, instead of pandering to the worst parts of its own fanbase with lazier jokes

I think the word is Nightmare for the second film and Mordo returning for the third film, which I’d honestly prefer. even if Ejiofor shows up for a few minutes in 2 to complete his transformation into a full villain and then unleashes his power in 3, it’d be a lot better than rushing him into the villain role
I think that “Hash Pipe”’s lyric is actually “ass wide”, but Toto censored it to the more family-friendly “eyes wide”
I don’t think he was quite central enough last season to get the nom this year, but he’s generally been fantastic. he definitely should have got a nod for the season where he was contemplating poisoning Hector, that was phenomenal acting
ahh a 30 Rock reference out in the wild, I love to see it
I might read Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series again. it’s such a commitment and a wildly varied ride, but I’ve never kept thinking about a series after finishing it as long as I have with The Dark Tower... approximately three years at last count
it’s amazing how much better it plays than as written in the script, too - there’s just so much more personality in the lines they deliver with the small changes from what’s in the script
I didn’t get the first time I watched the season that they’d erased the whiteboard with her YOU RULE / YOU SUCK tally on it, that was a great joke to get the second time round
As far as I remember both are worth seeing. Studio exec silliness forced some reshoots for the theatrical release which added some very silly stuff, but it doesn’t ruin the movie for me or make it a less unique/enjoyable experience. The director’s cut is the more “pure” version, but they had to work with low-quality…
this movie is disgustingly underrated
best song they’ve released since Heritage, I’m thinking. it’s gorgeous
for the record, and I know this is a great joke but he’d already handed off the role to a different dog last season
this is a really great film, the last 20 minutes (especially the car sequence) stay with you
I just want Robin and Steve constantly on my screen, at all times
Jaden literally just dropped an album, like last Friday. any generic music player app or even visiting the famous site YouTube could direct you to some of the music from that album
yeah, and the humanising of Billy this season reminded me a lot of what they did with Henry Bowers in the IT remake, but with a couple crucial differences - Stranger Things does a better job of demonstrating that the abuse was longterm and lasting throughout Billy’s childhood, as opposed to Henry’s dad just generally…
it was definitely one of the realest moments the show’s ever done, and honestly realer than I expected them to actually go this season. the only problem, as others pointed out, was that Will then had no significant character moments for the whole rest of the season, bar a second with Mike in the finale
of course, but the way they actually treated him over a thing he was clearly enthusiastic about was pretty shitty, especially with Mike’s comment right after which has been covered a lot in the comments already. all they needed to do was take a second to explain to him “hey, we’re not into this thing anymore, but we…
yes! I agree, when this episode took like 15 minutes just to establish what all the characters have lost, how it affected each of them individually, and how things will have to change for them from now on was what sold me. it reminds me of how S1 actually had a genuine sense of these characters’ inner lives (just…
I’m trying to understand the border policy paragraph and I... cannot even get close. it’s such a massive stretch even Nancy would go “hang on, this isn’t quite supported”
